Archery Party!

This year for the annual Brigham Bowman Party we all got our costumes ready at Lizs house and headed over to the bowery.

It was a fun night full of food, shooting competitions and archery poker

Busy week!

Life has just been crazy busy lately!

There has been so much going on lately and not a whole lot to blog about

I went with a friend the other night and saw the new Footloose

 Im not a big fan of remakes of original movies

I love the original Footloose

I was a little skeptical

BUT I LOVED IT!!!!!!

It was so cute

I danced I laughed I sang

Its one I would buy even!

Go see it!

For work on my days off I attended a 2 day class on Domestic Violence and Stalking

It was tailored for Law Enforcement and was pretty interesting

It was very informative to see it from all aspects and to understand some things a little bit more

My mom came home from New Jersey on Friday

We had a little family dinner for her on Saturday.. somehow I didnt take any pictures!??!

The dinner was a blast

Its always interesting when we all get together.. and its never just immediate family

we always end up with other special extended family

like my sisters grandparents in laws or whatever

its always just a party!

Theres a good chance she is going to be sent to Texas pretty soon for a while

Ive also got to spend some time at the Poon house lately and eat the BEST pumpkin chocolate chip cookies I have ever had

So fabulous I threw my diet right out the window and had like 12 of them

New tires

Zack got new tires and a lift kit on his truck asked me if I wanted to go try them out

So we headed up to Mantua to some dirt roads and mud

I LOVE FALL

It was packed with deer hunters too

He let me drive for a while

Climbed some hills, played in some mud,

Then I let him drive

He found a big mudhole that he played with on his wheeler last time

The new tires and lift worked well haha

It was just a good excuse to go outside and play

Thats all I need is just an excuse!

 I also got to see his new gun he bought and shoot it

Zombies

On Friday night Kennedy and I went to dinner with my friend Zack.

He'd been out of town for work for a while and had just came back home

WingNutz is one of our favorite places and neither of us had been in months so we went as a welcome home thing

We were sitting there in the packed restaurant eating when all of a sudden all these people came walking passed all dressed up and bloody

I thought maybe it was for a movie or something

At first there were just a few of them

I wasn't too sure what Kennedy would think

She just sat and starred at them

Then there were more

and more

and more

They smeared fake blood all over the windows

Had nasty fake tongues they drug across the glass

Kennedy was in awe

She started waving to all them as they passed

I was just thankful she wasn't scared

Then a few of them came into the restaurant and wandered around

I hurried and googled on my phone to see what the hell was going on

I love technology

It was a Zombie Walk where they were doing it as a drive for food and clothing for a homeless shelter in Ogden City

It was the 2nd annual one and there were over 500 zombies in attendance!!

When we left the restaurant Kennedy kept looking behind her for the Sombies as she calls them

I kept trying to explain they were just people dressed up like for Halloween

She didnt care

"Mom if the sombies come after me Im gonna scream and run really really fast. I have new running shoes and they're fast! I'll run so fast you'll have to scream and catch up with me!"

Thankfully we were not attacked by sombies on the way to our car

However on the way home we did have a nice talk about jail on the way home??

She was all curious about it

I explained it to her that it was like a time out for big people when they do bad things

That they have to sit there and think about the bad thing they did and when they are good then they get to be done

She said "They are all sad in jail!! I will go sing to them and then they will no longer be sad anymore. They'll be happy!"

I asked her what she was going to sing.. she said Ke$ha

The question was asked to her what can people do to stay out of jail..

her reply

"Dont marry bad girl. Only marry good girls"

Moab

Saturday morning Hailey, Kennedy, Jenny and I all left for a road trip to Moab

A few of our friends were running in the half marathon down there.. and a few more were supposed to be running but different circumstances kept them from being able to go.

 It was a long car ride..

We stopped in Helper to see the Worlds Tallest Miner

Ok maybe we'd been in the car too long!!

It gave Kennedy a chance to run around and blow bubbles and for us to stretch some

Kennedy got an education

I believe it was AC/DC and she learned how to properly rock out..with some help from Jenny

We finally arrived in Moab

Checked into our hotel

Picked up Hailey's packet for the race and went to Italian at Papa Jays

The next morning was the race

They had to be there at 6am and then be shuttled up to where the race started at 830

There were over 2000 runners

While Hailey was running we were sleeping and packing up the room

This was Kennedys first ever time staying in a hotel!!

Jenny and I headed up the canyon to where we had to park

It was a beautiful drive!

We went 17 miles up the canyon

We parked in a big dirt parking lot and then had to take shuttle vans up to where the finish line was at

Kennedy was a little mom clingy and wasnt happy Jenny wanted a picture with her

We piled as many people as would fit into 16 passenger vans

It was only a few mile drive up to the finish line on a closed road

We made it to the finish spot about the same time as Kim Gibson and Janelle were running through

We somehow missed them and didnt see them finish dang it!

Kennedy got  of bored and drew pictures with rocks

We ended up running into Janell, Ellis and their family

Janelle finished in 2:13!

(two hours thirteen min)

As we were standing there talking to them Curt Gibson ran past

One runner dropped out the day before the race so he ran instead

He had not been training at all

Its a 13.1 mile run and he did it in 2:48!

Woo woo here comes Hailey to the finish line!

She made it! 3:7!

She stopped and couldn't stand up

Her poor legs were shaking so bad Jenny had to help hold her

Way to go Hailey!!

She said now take a picture how I really feel!!

The Moab Brewery helps sponsor the run and they give out free glasses and fill it with beer for the runners

We had to wait for Hailey to get through the line to get her glass and tote bag

Kennedy went and played by the river while we were waiting for her

Hailey got her things and we headed to the line to wait for the shuttle vans to pick us back up and take us to the car

Then it was homeward bound!

Kennedy had a lot of firsts this trip

First long car ride

First hotel stay

First girls trip

My little peanut is growing up!

She was also the seat belt police

She sure helped keep Jenny and Hailey in line and make sure they stayed buckled

If they didnt have their seat belt on or buckled after we were moving she yelled at them

it was pretty dang funny!

She at least found a way to stay comfortable and sleep on the ride home

It was a long drive going down one day and coming back the next

but it was fun!
