Headbands

I started making some cute crochet headbands for Kennedy

I tried a few different colors and now I just cant stop!

Here are two I made her

The other day she sat down on the couch

unrolled the rubber band around the news paper

unrolled the paper

and searched through it til she found the page she wanted

haha silly girl!!

Day 6- Home

(all the texas trip posts are backwards because I started with the first.. but they're labled so go back in order and start)

We all arrived at the airport bright and early for our 7am flight home

Seriously his family is so amazing

They are SO VERY sweet and kind and hilarious

I had the greatest time ever with them

They treat me so well and Kennedy too

His mom bought Kennedy some cute presents to bring home to her and Kennedy loved them

It was a fantastic trip!

The only thing I was excited about coming home for was to see Kennedy

My parents watched her while I was gone and she had some great bonding time with Grandma and Grandpa

She got to hang out with Auntie Liz and Auntie Sha too

Im lucky to have such a wonderful family!!

AND Ive got some pretty amazing friends also!!

They kind of missed me and wanted to hear all about the trip and see pictures so we met at Hailey's house for pizza and rice crispy treats that night when I got home

We ended up watching Lion King with Kennedy and curling up on Hailey's couch with the puppy after Jenny and MarDee left

Then the sugar hit Kennedy and her and Hailey started playing

These were the only pictures I took the whole night!?

I guess after taking 500 pictures on vacation I was a little pictured out!

After spending a whole week in 60-70 degree weather

Mostly sunny

Even when it was misty it wasnt too cold..

It was fabulous

Then we woke up to this!!

Not complaining! Just an adjustment!

Day 5- Relaxing and Goodbye

CW's flight earned Warrior Status

Its only given to two flights out of the whole graduation group

It means they excelled on their PT and tests they had to take

They did so well at Beast they earned it

Because of that they were given a town pass on Sunday also when everyone else had to stay on base

We picked him up Sunday morning at 9 am

Had to run a few more errands on base

Went out to eat

And then all he wanted to do the whole day was just relax and watch a movie

Not walk around in his dress shoes

They spent 8 weeks going non stop and he was beat

He also had to do 4 loads of laundry and pack before he left that next morning at 0300 hrs for a bus ride to San Angelo

Everyone else went and toured a zoo that was in the area

We stayed at the hotel and watched movies on his lap top and took a nap!

Jackie and Braun stayed with us for a while because they had to fly out that day for work

We had our teary goodbyes and they left

His parents came back and we ordered pizza for dinner

Just hung out some more and relaxed

He finished up all his laundry and it was time to say goodbye

No one was ready for it and nobody wanted to

He had to be back in his dorm at 6pm this night

We all met there

It sucked

I wasnt ready to say goodbye

It was too hard

I cried

His mom cried

His sister and dad cried

Nyla cried

I think we were all a bawling mess

He turned around one last time to see us all

And then Airman First Class Demorest is off to tech school for 6 months

His mom and sisters and I kept giving each other hugs and trying to laugh as we tried to stop our tears

4 days just really werent enough

We all went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and were all exhausted

Went back to the hotel and packed up to wake up at 0300 hrs to fly home

Day 4- Hockey Game

The 4 of us headed to a hockey game at the same place as the basketball game was the night before

When we started walking in we noticed all these people with dogs on leashes walking into the game too

We were all confused and wondering if we were at the right place

Well that night they were attempting to set a Guinness World Record of the most dogs at a sporting event

I was so nervous it was going to be nasty and stinky and just gross

IT WASN'T!

Surprisingly it was really clean and didn't stink!

They were donating a portion of the proceeds that night to a local animal shelter

They had dogs for adoption

Treats and watering stations for them

Toys for sale for the dogs

It was actually pretty neat!

All the dogs we saw too were really very well behaved!

We ended up getting SKY BOX seats for WAY cheap

They had a Airman's Discount that night

With there being a graduation every weekend the town was really used to being flooded by blue

The hockey game was SO MUCH FUN!!!

We were screaming and cheering and I kept hoping a big fight would break out

Minor league hockey totally trumped NBA by far

They had these cute little dancers

The girls were so young they weren't even able to do the same thing at once but they were still super cute!

A while later they brought out a belly dancing group....

Then the cheerleaders came out too

The Rampage destroyed the Rivermen

The game was close for a while but then in the end they made several goals to win

We realized Jackie and I didnt get any pictures of us!

CW bought Kennedy a pink hockey puck

He tried to talk me into letting him buy her a pink hockey stick but I said no way!

Jackie was trying to get her camera to work for some pictures and we had Braun holding our purses for us

We started teasing him and he ran with it

Braun is so stinkin funny

You cant help but laugh the entire time you are around him

Day 4- IHOP and Caverns

Friday CW had a town pass also

Bruce and Pam brought him over to our hotel.. well eventually they kinda got lost and the base lost his dry cleaning so they showed up only an hour or two late!

We all went out to breakfast and then Pam and Bruce were going to head home

While we were waiting for our food this girl and her sister were going around making balloon things for 5 bucks

Zoe got a Bugs Bunny

CW got Mario

She could make them crazy fast!!

After breakfast we said our goodbyes in the parking lot and headed off to go see some caverns

We went to The Natural Bridge Caverns

Just under the bridge of rock is the entrance

We figured it would be cold inside

ya know being under ground and all.. so we all took our jackets and hoodies

Airman First Class Cw

The reason hes already moved up 2 in rank is because of his Bachelors degree

I dont know if Ive given the background or not on him lol

He has a bachelors in Geography with a minor in Geo spacial Science

When he went into the Air Force the job he wanted was actually open and he tested high enough to get it

He is a Geo spacial Intelligence Analyst on a 6 year contract

I know you notice there is a lot of pictures of Jackie and Braun but not Kim and Mark

Well one Mark doesn't like his picture taken lol marine..

and two camera flashes bother him pretty bad so he just kind of hung to the back and let us flash away!

It was SO hot down into the caverns!!

Like 80 degrees and HIGH humidity

All of our hair frizzed right up!

I guess these are pretty rare where they are symetrical for the most part all the way from the top to the bottom

Its caused by the water constantly running down them

The caverns were pretty neat

We went and ate at Dave Miller BBQ for dinner

CW had sneakily bought me a really pretty necklace at the caverns and gave it to me at dinner aw!

Then we had to go get ready for the hockey game that night

If he went to the game he was allowed to stay out late

If not he had to be back by 8pm

Only Jackie and Braun wanted to go with us again

We did a lot of walking around that day
