4 wheeling and Bday party

Saturday morning started out with me at work and Kennedy and Chris at his parents for breakfast

and sweet little no mouth filter Kennedy (cant imagine where she gets that from) told Grandpa Todd his biscuits and gravy were good...but not as good as Grandpa Coreys

I planned on staying at work but then I had the opportunity to leave work and take a little vacation time

Kennedy and Chris's family were all going 4 wheeling

Todd (his dad) Jana (his step mom) Roy and Kat (Jana's parents) Chris Kennedy and I all loaded up and parked at the trail-head at Hardware Ranch

Potty breaks, packed snacks, fueled up and headed out

I mean really how could I pass up beautiful views like this!

We rode up to their cabin

Had to drop off a few things there

Had some cookies and snacks

Then headed off 

Yes Todd even talked me into wearing a helmet...

Ugh I never do on four wheelers and hate it but that's the rules lol

We stopped at Bug Lake

Todd spent most his summers growing up living in the mountains up here while his dad worked

Him and his brother used to take a bath every night in Bug Lake

Its kind of special to him

He was excited to show it to us and wanted a picture of Kennedy there

We rode to a few more areas after that

Stopped and had some snacks and took a break

Kennedy wanted to ride with Grandma Jana

Those two sure have bonded its so cute

I know I have said this a thousand times..

but this dang kid CANNOT stay awake on a four wheeler 

She was OUT

Yes she actually slept like this

We ended up stopping and putting her between Chris and I

It was a great ride

Weather was nice and sunny and warm

Not really too many people out for it being Saturday

and Chris's family is a crack up!

We came home,cleaned up and Kennedy went back to have dinner with Grandma Jana and Grandpa Todd

This cute boy and I headed to a surprise b day party in Morgan

Well...

...

It was supposed to start at 7

We got there about 6:50

Parked at the church and went to the house

The birthday boy Chase (Chris's 2nd cousin) was spending the day with his friend Preston

They decided to go to Bear Lake and lost track of time

When we got to the house they were just leaving Bear Lake

Everyone showed up and was waiting for them

They ended up getting there about a quarter to 9

We all came inside and waited to surprise him

His girlfriend Randi was so anxious she kept peeking out the windows and so did everyone else

He was surprise when he came into the house and it was full of people

We went out back and BBQ'd 

We were only able to stay til about 10 since we needed to pick up Kennedy and I had to work at 6 am

I drove us home and we got peanut

She was crashed and didnt even wake up when we carried her to the truck!

It sure was a day full of family and fun

Sleeping beauties

There are not enough hours in the day for sleep

Well for me at least it seems like lately

However when I left for work this morning EVERYONE was crashed

Yesterday was a long day for all

I got up at 0400 and didnt get HOME until 1130 at night

We also had a house full this morning

Kayla was crashed on the couch

Parker bum on the chair

He came over at 0400 this morning

Chris out cold in bed

Kennedy in her bed

Jenna on the floor 

Sweet Kennedy was asleep by the time I got home and she will be so surprised to wake up and find Jenna on her floor haha

Tired peanut doesnt even know she's having a sleepover

Last Softball Game

Wednesday night was the last game for Smooth Operators

The top left is before the game and the bottom left is after

It was a good game

We lost but it was still fun!

Afterwards we went to Wingnutz to celebrate out last game

Fishing on the Bear

Tuesday night Chris and I went out on the river fishing

It had been bright and sunny all day long

HOT

We had to stop and help his grandparents with a project before we left

As we headed to the boat ramp there was dark clouds and skies to the west but all around was blue skies

As we get to the ramp lightening starts

You can tell a storm is coming but it looks like it will just be a small one

It was dark at the ramp but all around it was sunny and behind the dark clouds were sun

We decided to chance it and head out

We started and the motor was having problem

We made it maybe 500 feet out and had to turn around to work on it

Got it running good and headed back out

Just as we started so did the rain

It was a nice warm summer rain and felt good

We stopped at the spot to fish and pulled up to the bank

Threw the lines out and all of a sudden I take off my shoes and jump out of the boat

Chris is looking at me like what in the world

There was a HUGE frog on the bank and I wanted to catch it

I chased it all down the edge of the river and missed it over and over ha!

He started laughing at me and said I wish I had a camera right now!

I laughed back at him and said you do silly!

By then the rain had stopped and it was hot again

I didnt want to get my shirt all muddy so I took it off and kept chasing frogs barefoot in the mud

I didnt end up catching any frogs :( but it kept me entertained for quite a while

One thing I think is neat about the river is the banks are COVERED in old cars

Its sad but at the same time its really neat to see

Chris went on a little hike, we caught some fish

Ok well he caught 3 fish and I missed about 15 

then I finally caught one at the end!

Doesnt matter how tiny it was.. I caught one 

I love going out on the river

I love spending the evening fishing

Its so pretty and relaxing

The skies are just amazing colors 

Chris's haircut

Tuesday Chris had the day off from work for the holiday

We bummed around it was so nice!

Went to breakfast at Berts Cafe, visited his family, went over to my parents

him and my dad worked on my dads wheeler

Everyone was inside sitting around talking

My dad was telling us about mom cutting his hair that morning and how she'd cut his ear

Chris mentioned he needed a haircut too 

One thing lead to another and Dad said

We will cut it! Jess can cut hair

Kinda joked back and forth.. 

Then dad got up, got out the chair, clippers and cape

I dont think Chris dared say no :)

I started out with the back

Cleaning up the neck and working my way up

Chris has very very thick hair

My dad came over and said  you cut like your mom! 

All delicate like you're sculpting something

You gotta get in there and he grabs the clippers and goes right across the side of Chris's head 

We were all laughing so hard

Chris said this was his initiation into the family

Busy Weekend

Sunday night after I got off work I was exhausted

Went home took a nice little nap

Went to Chris's family for dinner 

and then to Zacks for a fire

He put in a new fire pit so we had to go over

Kennedy was such a crack up

If my phone came out she'd hurry and run over to Zack for a picture

We sat and enjoyed the fire and the cooler night air

watched a lightning storm off to the south

Monday Kennedy and I got to babysit sweet baby Rylee (Chris's niece)

It had been so long since there was a baby around!

I'd almost forgot what it was like

She is such a doll I just love her

Kennedy wasn't too keen on it at first

She was fine with her being there but she didn't like her taking my attention

Kennedy resorted to being a mom herself and having babies

She put them in Rylees car seat or bouncer

fed them bottles, dressed them in clothes

She felt better once she got to play with Rylee and by the time she went home Kennedy wanted her back

We needed to go to Walmart so of course we had to get her some stuff!!

Her mom works at Mckay so when she came to get her we had her dressed up in her new onesie

Her Uncle and Grandpa are both firemen so we had to get a fireman rubber ducky too

After she left we had my family over for dinner

I made bacon wrapped meatloaf covered in homemade bbq sauce, loaded mashed potatoes and corn

It was delicious!

Dane, Elysha, Parker, Chris, Kennedy and I all went to the Pioneer Days rodeo in Ogden after that

Dad was working and came down to say hi for a while

I really liked the new reserved seating they have

It was nice to get up for the 1200 potty breaks and not lose your spot

This was Parkers first rodeo

The kids had fun but got restless

Kennedy LOVED the "cowgirl princesses" of course

Parker loved watching the bucking horses

By the end of the night they were both being archers and pretending to shoot a bow and shoot the hats off the cowboys

Truck Pulls

Last night Chris, Kennedy, Hunter (his bro) and I went to the truck pulls in Tremonton

It was so hot when we first got there

They started at 4pm

They had all kinds of categories, stock gas, stock diesel, modified, super modified, alcohol trucks, semis, on and on 

Some of them did awesome

The dodges seriously seemed to dominate

They had a 1984 Camero that was a mudder car try and he actually did pretty good!

Its redneck I know.. but I love the smoke!!!!!

I know more smoke equals less power but dang to watch it billow out..

Kennedy made a cute little friend

His dad works with Chris and this boy was so cute!!

He LOVED the trucks

and Kennedy

He kept giving her kisses

I was getting tired and was sitting with my head on Chris's shoulder

He came over and gave me one of those looks and a big kiss

I bust out laughing

I told Chris he thinks he can put the moves on your girlfriend!

They had a monster truck there that for 5 bucks they'd let you ride in the back and take you out around the arena

Kennedy had so much fun

I was worried she would be scared since it was so high

Complete opposite

She wanted to go again and was laughing

She also fell asleep half way through the alcohol trucks

The loudest freakin trucks there and she crashed

I know people laugh and make fun of the beer drinking, rowdy, tooth missing, mullet wearing, redneck truck pull crowd but I do have to say that is the MOST respect I have EVER seen at an event during the National Anthem

EVER

It was SILENT

People stood and paid respect to the flag prior to being asked

Every hat was off

There was no talking or laughing during it

A guy across the arena from us was standing and saluting and it made me tear up

You could just feel the respect level for the flag and this country during it

It was amazing

Thursday

Thursday night we had some rain and as I was headed to go get our babysitter there was a beautiful double rainbow! The bottom right is the actual unedited picture from my phone

It was actually pretty clear and bright for being two rainbows!

So I know I've talked about this boy before.. but man he deserves more talking about!

I worked a 12 hour shift last night and came home exhausted

I came in the door and they didn't hear me

Kennedy and Chris were in the kitchen making dinner with the radio going

He was teaching her how to use a can opener and I was able to listen to them talk with out them knowing

It was so cute

When I got home dinner was done

Kennedy had a bath and was already in jammies

The house was clean

Laundry done

He vacuumed

Scrubbed the tile floors 

Oh yeah and he worked all day and only made it home 2 hours before I did

Kennedy was going to bed and before I made it upstairs they were already up there

(In case you haven't figured it out Chris moved in about a month ago)

He was reading her princess stories before bed

Talk about heart melting!!

I am one lucky girl

Raptors

Tuesday night Chris and I went to the Raptors game

Thankfully the rain had cleared up

But because of the rain the day before they played a double header that night

We were able to catch the last 3 innings of the first game before our game started

Chris cracks me up

He loves grass and baseball and fields

He was loving watching them groom between the games and commenting on what they were using

I secretly think he enjoyed that as much as the game

Swim Lessons

This is Kennedys last week of swim lessons

Yesterday was the last class I will take her too

Liz is taking her today since I work

She has done so well!!!

I have been so impressed and her teacher Miss Sydney is AWESOME!!!!

They have learned arrow arms, to blow bubbles, safety day with their life jackets, and all kids of things

BUT the best thing has been Kennedy is no longer afraid to go under water

This kid is a fish however even in the bathtub if you try to wash her hair she freaks

Ends up in tears and a fight trying to dunk her head back

Wednesdays class she spent almost the entire time UNDERWATER!
I was so proud of her

Each class a couple times the teacher will take them out to the deeper end, 4ft, and make them touch the bottom and jump in from the side also

They cant plug their noses and have to blow their bubbles when they go under

They give them little rings and they pretend to 'drive their cars' across the pool

They steer with the rings and blow their bubbles as they go

Kennedy told her teacher 

"I don't drive a car. I drive a Jeep. And they can drive underwater"

So she drove back and forth across the pool SUBMERGED!

I have been so happy with her swim class and so proud of her for doing so well

Each time she does good and listens we get a treat after class

This last time she got TWO

Ice cream, Batgirl and Softball

Kennedy and I had a girls day Wednesday while Chris was at work

We went to her swimming lessons, had lunch at the park with Chris, went home and had ice cream and watched a movie, washed Chris's truck, played

and then while we were cleaning I sent Kennedy to go clean her room

The strangest thing happened!!

After I sent her upstairs all of a sudden BATGIRL appeared!!!

That night we had a finals softball game

We only have one more left

We did great the first half and got killed the second 

Ha like Hailey and I's numbers

Yep 911 

We're tricky like that

Monsoon

Monday all of a sudden we had a hard and fast rain storm!!

It was crazy!!!!

IT DUMPED on us

You can see in less than five minutes the gutters were full

It just so happened I was waiting at home with dinner and a movie

Chris had to hurry and mow a few lawns after work then he was headed home..

Well he gets off work at 4pm

The rain hit at 430 ish

So it happened to be his week to be on call for work too

The flash flood of water created all kinds of problems

He got called out several times before he even made it home

He got home around 8pm

Ate some quick dinner and then we had to go lock up the bathrooms at the parks!

East Canyon

Sunday after shooting we went to see my parents at East Canyon and eat dinner

Phill was up there also visiting

Dad wanted to take Kennedy over to the kids pond to fish

We were there a while with no bites

Had little fish bubbling all around and rising but nothing would take the bait

Finally Kennedy got a bite

Just as her and Grandpa were working on setting the hook another small fish jumped right over their line!!

She brought in this bad boy trout and was so happy

Sunday Shooting

We came home from the cabin late Saturday night

Sunday afternoon we went shooting

It had been too long and with all the recent rains we were safe 

Melissa still is pretty much down to one arm but she was able to shoot the .22 pistol

Shes left handed too so she had to use her non dominant hand

We took turns shooting with our opposite hands too for fun

We all broke out our .17's too

We each had our .22 pistols

Our .17 rifles 

and Chris and I had our 9mms

Kennedy shot a little bit with us but she has so much fun hanging out in the back of Zack's truck and eating snacks!

Afterwards we went to Calls drive in for lunch
