Fire Ride- Healing Field

We headed over to Sandy City to where they had the Healing Field

They had two fields full of flags.

Each one was for a life lost in 9-11

The bikes lined over a city block square 3 bikes deep

Each flag had a name card attached to it that listed info about each victim

They also had a statue that was made in remembrance and they did the unveiling

These balloons were also released.

Each one also was for a life lost

Lunch was included in the registration

However the people delivering the lunch was over 45 min late!

So everyone was just standing around waiting.

We decided to just walk 1/2 a block up the road to Chik fil A

IT WAS PACKED.

BUT I gotta say I am SO IMPRESSED with them!

When we got there the line was out the door and the drive thru was packed.

Inside was packed also.

A lot of the other people there had the same idea.

We waited in line maybe 5 min was all before they took our order.

They were SO fast and our orders were correct!

The Healing Field was amazing.

It was so humbling but at the same time filled you with pride for the USA

Fire Ride- Harley shop

This year was the 10 year anniversary of 9-11 and the 10 year anniversary of the Fire Ride

It started at the South Valley Harley shop in Sandy.

They had registration and breakfast there.

This was by far the biggest fire ride ever..

and the biggest ride I had ever been on

There were aprox 1500 motorcycles there!

When we got there about 400-500 bikes showed up and they just kept pouring in!

Zack, Dad, Michelle VanTassle (shes a family friend I havent seen for about 10 years!) Bambi and her girlfriend.

The people at the Harley shop went around and put 2 flags on every single bike on the mirrors.

It was really neat to see all the bikes going down the road with the flags waving and to know who was part of the group or not.

The Harley shop people were directing traffic with flags.

Sunday Shooting

This Sunday Liz the girls and I went shooting.

For the past year or so Liz has been compiling a 'hater target'

Its full of all those things guys say..

ya know the lies and lines

She took all those ones she had been told and put them on a post it note for her target when she was told them

Well today was time to get rid of the target!!

Happenings

Last Sunday Mom and Dad came home from archery deer camp

They got home about 1200.. by 1300 hrs mom was deployed for the damage from the hurricane.

She left that next morning at 6 am.

She flew into Georgia and then was assigned to New Jersey

She will be gone for at least 30 days again.

Dad made seafood lasagna Sat night so we headed up for dinner

Its got almost an alfredo sauce with scallops, crab and shrimp.

Liz and the kiddos and I headed to Walmart for a few things.

I have been wanting a pink flannel ear flap hat so bad.

Yes Im totally serious.

Walmart had them and I couldn't believe it!!

I was so excited. 

I cant wait for it to get cold enough to wear!!

Of course Liz had to get one too!
