Moab

Saturday morning Hailey, Kennedy, Jenny and I all left for a road trip to Moab

A few of our friends were running in the half marathon down there.. and a few more were supposed to be running but different circumstances kept them from being able to go.

 It was a long car ride..

We stopped in Helper to see the Worlds Tallest Miner

Ok maybe we'd been in the car too long!!

It gave Kennedy a chance to run around and blow bubbles and for us to stretch some

Kennedy got an education

I believe it was AC/DC and she learned how to properly rock out..with some help from Jenny

We finally arrived in Moab

Checked into our hotel

Picked up Hailey's packet for the race and went to Italian at Papa Jays

The next morning was the race

They had to be there at 6am and then be shuttled up to where the race started at 830

There were over 2000 runners

While Hailey was running we were sleeping and packing up the room

This was Kennedys first ever time staying in a hotel!!

Jenny and I headed up the canyon to where we had to park

It was a beautiful drive!

We went 17 miles up the canyon

We parked in a big dirt parking lot and then had to take shuttle vans up to where the finish line was at

Kennedy was a little mom clingy and wasnt happy Jenny wanted a picture with her

We piled as many people as would fit into 16 passenger vans

It was only a few mile drive up to the finish line on a closed road

We made it to the finish spot about the same time as Kim Gibson and Janelle were running through

We somehow missed them and didnt see them finish dang it!

Kennedy got  of bored and drew pictures with rocks

We ended up running into Janell, Ellis and their family

Janelle finished in 2:13!

(two hours thirteen min)

As we were standing there talking to them Curt Gibson ran past

One runner dropped out the day before the race so he ran instead

He had not been training at all

Its a 13.1 mile run and he did it in 2:48!

Woo woo here comes Hailey to the finish line!

She made it! 3:7!

She stopped and couldn't stand up

Her poor legs were shaking so bad Jenny had to help hold her

Way to go Hailey!!

She said now take a picture how I really feel!!

The Moab Brewery helps sponsor the run and they give out free glasses and fill it with beer for the runners

We had to wait for Hailey to get through the line to get her glass and tote bag

Kennedy went and played by the river while we were waiting for her

Hailey got her things and we headed to the line to wait for the shuttle vans to pick us back up and take us to the car

Then it was homeward bound!

Kennedy had a lot of firsts this trip

First long car ride

First hotel stay

First girls trip

My little peanut is growing up!

She was also the seat belt police

She sure helped keep Jenny and Hailey in line and make sure they stayed buckled

If they didnt have their seat belt on or buckled after we were moving she yelled at them

it was pretty dang funny!

She at least found a way to stay comfortable and sleep on the ride home

It was a long drive going down one day and coming back the next

but it was fun!

Papparazzi Jewelry Party

This weekend I hosted a jewelry party..

or I should say my dad hosted one

My friend MarDee sells the stuff and the parties are great because everything is right there

You can see it, try it on, nothing to sign up for, nothing to listen to

You just come in to the open house, eat and buy!

My dad was all excited for this and made us 3 salsas!

One black bean, one fresh pico and the other his bottled salsa, sweet pulled pork and cookies!

Oh and he decided plain tortillas just weren't good enough he had to cook some up too

The party was a great success!

Kangaroo Zoo

Today Jenny, Sarita and I took the little ones to the Kangaroo Zoo in Ogden

It was my first trip there ever

The place is so neat!

ITS FULL of blow up slides and toys for the kids

Kennedy was scared to climb up this steep big slide

Jennys cute nephew Owen helped her and she made it almost to the top before she chickened out and slid down the stairs

Weekend Catch Up

This weekend a band that I know a few of the individuals in was playing a show on Friday night

I didnt have any plans

It was Liz and ours weekends for our kids to be with their dads

So I told her lets go!

Oh yeah Liz is now a redhead

She dyed her hair that morning

We can just sit at home alone on a Friday night!

A bunch of my friends from work were going to be down there too

The band was pretty good

They're called Crossfire

They play a lot of Kansas, CCR, Eagles etc

She is a freakin riot!

There is a special spot in my fridge that freezes

I had a diet coke freeze and deform the can so I walked over to the garbage can which was full and dropped the can down into it.

It fell maybe a whole 3 inches

Next thing I know the can SHOOTS across the room

hits the ceiling

and slams into the wall about 8 feet away!

My wall and ceiling and whole dining area are covered in frozen mushy diet coke

The whole top of the can just popped open when I dropped it into the garbage and propelled it that far!!!!

Spent the day snuggling and hanging out with my peanut

She crashed out on the couch on my lap

..

That is after today she told me

"Mom, you're not very smart anymore. You are being mean to your daugther and thats not nice!"

Im so mean because I made her pick up her toys!
