Malad Saturday and Sunday

Saturday on the way back from Rupert Mom dropped me off in Malad to meet up with Chris and she took my car home
The trailer hood was in full swing but actually less trailers than last year!
The Dickamores did dinner for everyone
Pork Souvlaki
Chris and Kevin cooked it up
It was AMAZING oh my gosh! so yummy!
Chris was handing out food to the hungry children
MMM souvlaki, dutch oven potatoes and asparagus salad
The wind kicked up pretty good
It looked like we were going to get rain but we never did
Zack text me and asked me my 10-20
I invited him to come with us earlier and he had too much to do
He decided he could play now
I told him where we were at and he headed up
He was getting there just about dark as we were getting the fire going
Now we're cookin with peanut oil!
I mean gas!
Everyone huddled around the fire trying to keep warm but the dang wind kept blowing bad

Me and the brother
Coltin and Kim
Me trying to get Chris to smile but he was busy on his phone

Lanelle lost a jewel out of her necklace and they went to finding it.. surprisingly they did!
Rudy sliced open his finger..
Chris who had just taken his EMT test that morning doctored him up good
We spent the night in Daves camper and the next morning woke up bright and early to go to breakfast
Chris and I went to Me and Lous'
I had a strawberry and cream Belgian Waffle
MMMM
Chris's team was #24 to shoot
They were scheduled to shoot around 1230.. we know thats not gonna happen but its always nice to think
They let team 33 and team 36 shoot way early off because they needed to do things
Sometimes in Malad you see funny things
Like I saw a stroller with gun racks attached on it
Or this trashy trashy trailer with Caesars Palace spray painted on back
Then there was this guy
He was too drunk to walk so they TIED a lawn chair to a cart and his younger brother was pulling him around
He stopped and said hi.. asked if I wanted a ride with him lol
I told his brother make sure he charged him good for that!
We were still waiting..
One trap house kept breaking down
Then they'd fix it and the other thrower would break down
They were on deck to shoot when the one thrower broke half way through the team before thems turn
Had to wait to fix it and then let them finish and move on
FINALLY it was Chris's teams turn around 5

Chris didnt shoot all that great..
But I got some good pictures of him ha!
His team wasnt in the runnings for anything but managed a pretty good score of 716
Two of the teams of people we were with had to have a shoot off for 3rd place
We werent able to stay and watch.. it makes a long day for just sitting and waiting.. and we had to get home to pickup Kennedy from Ashley who were on their way home from Lagoon...plus we needed to clean up and do laundry!

Idaho Archery Shoot

Saturday morning Chris and Todd headed off to take their EMT practical tests in SLC (They passed woo!)
Mom and I headed to Idaho for a fundraiser archery shoot
This was my first non Brigham Bowmen shoot ever!
We made pretty good time on the way up
We stopped in Burley for lunch at Dennys and then headed back down to Rupert to shoot
When we got there, NO ONE ELSE was there
If it wasnt for all the signs we would have thought we were in the wrong place
We unloaded our gear, paid our fees and started to shoot the course
There was a father and son not far ahead of us so we knew which way the course would go
They had all kinds of different yardages marked.. but they werent super correct!
The guy told us to stand at the flags and shoot which were different markers than the other ones ha!
But we figured it out
The sun was shinning and the weather was good.. but the wind was BAD
Mom

My bows the pink one.. moms is the neon green
You can see in this shot how windy it was!!!
The bad thing is there would be a light breeze, you'd draw back and wham the wind would kick up bad!
You'd hold steady for a min think youve got it figured out, then the wind would stop!

There was one target I really struggled with
Two antelope out on a flat at 55 yards
Wind was gusting
And I think I need to do some more tuning on my bow :(
First shot I split it right between my 50 and 60 yard pins and I went right over its back
So the next shot I put my 50 yard pin just a little high but pretty much spot on
I shot way under the belly..
I couldnt find my arrow for a minute but I found the nock.. after some looking I found half my arrow way over to the right and in the field
This is the first arrow I have ever broekn
I figured it had to have split somewhere and hit somewhere kind of close so I started searching
Well I found it
I had launched my arrow into the bottom of the wood board behind the target
I tried and tried to pull it out so I could get my tip out of it..
No go its stuck there forever
The last target was up a 'stand' to simulate a tree stand
My mom HATES heights
Especially ones that might be wobbly
I went up and shot then had her shoot
She did really good!
We both rocked this one!

We finished up as more people started to show up and the storm started to come in the distance
They scored their targets differently.. normally its a 12, 10, 8 and 5 scoring
They scored theirs 11, 10, 8 and 5
I shot a 217 and mom shot a 230
I didnt feel too bad though because in all honesty a lot of our shots were pretty close together and if I can come close to someone whose been shooting for years and Im only in my first year I cant complain too much
It was a long but fun day
We drove there up 84 and through Snowville but on the way home we went to 15 and across through Pocatello because mom had to drop me off in Malad to Chris

Day 122- Chilis Fundraiser

Thursday Chilis held a fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis
So at work we did a food run
This is one of our coworkers little boys
The donations went to help him out
We ordered BIG :)

I got their new breadsticks and cheese
OH MY GOSH!
They are AMAZING!

Day 121

Went to my parents house to get some shooting in
Mom and I are going to a shoot in Idaho this weekend and I really need some practice
When I pulled in the driveway Elysha, Liz and Dane were there
Kennedy hopped right out and started playing with Parker
Dane was working on a taxidermy hide so I grabbed a lawn chair next to Elysha and watched for a while
We bs'd and I molested her belly
She wanted to take the 80 out to go play so I got it started and warmed up for her
She was excited because this was baby no names first ride

I played around some at 20 yards
I havent shot for a while and as you can tell I need some practice!!
It didnt help either that we kept having wind gusts

This was my group at 30 yards
Lets hope I can get a few more days of practice in before Saturday!!
EEK!

Day 120

Tuesday morning I was feeling yucky
I think from going non stop all weekend caught up with me
I had a KILLER headache Monday night when I went to bed and nothing would take it away
I slept in some Tuesday morning
This past week Kennedy had been a little turd, she just wasnt listening and not behaving... however since I took her hunting she has been completely opposite
Who says hunting isnt good for kids!
She came and snuggled with me for a little bit at 6 am
Then got up, made herself a bath, got herself dressed, made herself breakfast (cereal and bread) and cleaned up
She was listening so well. Everything was yes mom
I got up to get in the shower and she decided she wanted to text dad
So she sent him her name so he would know the texts were from her and then started playing
She got into my Rhapsody and turned on some music while she text
and then took about 30 pictures of herself like this
and about 20 videos of her singing, laughing and burping
I was cracking up going through them all
Shes too dang smart for only being 5
