305- Brigham Bowmen Halloween Archery Party

Friday, the day after Halloween, Brigham Bowmen had their archery party. Chris was on call still so we had to come up with costumes that were easy to dress up in so if he had to go on a call it wasn't too bad.. plus he was being a Halloween Scrooge and didn't want to dress up. So I came up with a compromise able costume. He could be a deer hunter.. so just camos and orange and I'd be a deer. I glued some antlers to a headband, found a brown sweater and pinned a white piece of felt on the front, made a tail, threw on some brown leggins and boots and bam I had a costume.
The range was set up with all kinds of fun targets to shoot at. A swinging ball on a rope, clay pigeons hanging from fishing line, balloons, paper pumpkins and bats, animals with balloons or clay pigeons on them, candles where you had to shoot out the flame, and that flag was held down by a piece of string with a piece of wood in the middle. You shoot the wood and the flag flies up and the bell rings. It was a potluck too. There was chili and breadsticks, cheese dips, cookies, rice crispy treats, meatballs, chips, and all kinds of goodies!
Liz, Kyle and Kinlie.. flapper girl, gangster and a vampire
Mom and Dad.. aka Ducky Dynasty
A hunter and his deer. Todd was having too much fun with this one! Every time I turned around it was "Hey deer.. how are you deer.." or some comment!
 Mom, Liz and I
Erin the creepy doll and Dr House

304- A day full of HALLOWEEN!!!

Miss Merida from the movie Brave.. aka Kennedy all ready for school. Dont you just love her crazy wig! A big thanks to JaNeale for spoiling Kennedy and getting her costume from the Disney Store.. you wouldn't believe how hard they were to find!
of course we have to pose and have action shots! She was bummed she couldnt take her bow to school.. but she understood and told me several times how weapons are NOT allowed at school
I dropped her off at school at 830 and then went up to my moms a little later. Kennedy had a Halloween Parade at school and I went to pick her up. My mom had Chico dressed up for the holiday too! He loved it cant you tell..
Mom and I went down to the gym for our first ever Halloween Parade. Only Kindergarten and First grade go to her Elementary school since there are so many kids (everyone from Willard/South Willard and Perry go to her school)
All the kids walk into the gym with their class and make a loop around in their costumes. Then they walk through the halls and into the other classes and back through the gym for a final loop. They have all the Kindergartners walk first, then they go back to class and they let the First graders walk. Can you see my little red head?

making the first loop through the gym

and on the second loop back through she was blowing kisses to everyone.. She had no idea we were going to be there so as she first came through she was surprised but on her second loop she was prepared ha!

Once all the kids got out of school we went to see Liz at work at the Ogden Courts, then we went to my work and stopped in to see Dad at the fire station.
 Lysha lou wearing Parkers mask
 Dad with all his grandkids
From there Elysha, Mom, Parker, Macee, Kennedy and I went to see Todd at his work. He works like 2 minutes from me and their work hadn't had hardly any trick or treaters so the kids made out good there! Kennedy was so funny she was sure NO ONE would recognize her in her wig. So each grandpa she saw they'd say wow look at that hair or some comment and she'd rip off her wig and say "Grandpa! Its me your granddaughter Kennedy!!!"

From there Kennedy, Mom and I went to Willard Trunk or Treat. Its always so fun and each year you can either donate candy or money. The CERT volunteers put it on and the fire dept helps out. They serve free chili, hot dogs and cocoa. You can volunteer to make a trunk and either supply your own candy or they divide the donations between the trunks. It started at 6 and we were there by 5:40.. we were already a ways back in line!

The cars line make a loop through part of the church parking lot and then another loop up the street in front of the fire station. The roads are blocked off so no cars can drive through. It makes a big M pretty much

They had some cute trunks this year

Kennedy and Grandma getting treats

Doug (one of the guys from willard and the fire dept) and his wife always get so into Halloween. This year he was a pregnant zombie cheerleader. It was hilarious, especially if you know him!
After all that fun and excitement we headed to Brigham to see Chris. He is grounded (aka on call) ALL this week/weekend so he had to be in Brigham by 6pm Halloween night. He was out shutting off sprinklers when we got there. So we hung out for a minute and then he showed up, along with Ry, Derek, Ash, her friend Carrie and her son Tyler. Kennedy was coloring in the living room and they all started coloring. Forget trick or treating!
We all decided to go walk around a couple of blocks in the neighborhood to trick or treat.. and by all.. I mean ALL of us. Jana, Todd, Ash, Derek, Ry, Me, Chris, Kennedy, Carrie and Tyler.
After a few blocks the kids were done. It was cold. They were tired. The candy buckets were heavy. So we went back to Todd and Janas to color of course and watch The Adams Family.
Happy Halloween!!!
Kennedy was so cute when we were done trick or treating and headed home she said to me "Mom thanks for taking me trick or treating.. I really had a fun time" it totally took me aback her saying thank you for taking her. Sometimes we get so caught up in the routine of thats just what you do for holidays I didnt even think twice about taking her trick or treating. Thats what parents do. I thought it was so sweet she said that

303- 2nd night of archery and a program

My mom fletched and painted some arrows for Kennedy for her archery class. Now she has her very own arrows custom cut and colored for her! She also wrote her initials on the veins so that she could find them!
We shot most of the class but then needed to help run the registration booth for a few minutes. She almost had as much fun running that as shooting. She got to tell people where to sign in at and what to write where

After class Kennedy and I went to go see Kinlies school program. Box Elder school district offers and immersion program where the kids learn a foreign language. Kinlie is in the Chinese class. They had a Halloween program where they sang songs, some in English and some in Chinese and they were all in their cute costumes. We sat with Kyle, Liz and Kyles parents. Jana came and joined us too.
 Kinlie was a vampire
She had a speaking part too

302- fall

We are hitting that end of fall where the leaves are beautiful but starting to hit the ground!
The view from the east side of our house
and whats a seasons picture with out one of the Bamburger

301-More Sod

Chris wasnt at Sunday dinner because he was off picking up about 1600 sq feet of sod. He found a killer deal.. 2 1/2 pallets of dormant cut sod for $75. Its perfect because we can lay it now and it wont start to grow til spring next year so we dont have to worry about it freezing. Sunday night he was only able to drop the pallets off in the yard and had to lay it Monday after work.
His friend Troy came over to help lay it
and then Zack stopped by because he saw we were outside working.. well the boys were. I was inside making dinner for everyone. Brats, cheesy rice and fried potatoes. Todd came over to help and Jana came inside to visit. Then Liz and Kyle brought Kinlie over to play. We had a full house!! We almost had enough sod to take it all the way to the front. We just need a little bit more to fill in that gap and we will be good. Our lawn looks so horrible right now and so pieced together.. but by spring next year it will be awesome!

We just tripled the amount of grass woo woo!
