Two duck hunts in one day

Chris had Friday off work since he got called in last Saturday

We went out duck hunting.. twice

First hunt was at the refuge early in the morning

We also saw a bunch of pheasants running along the side of the canal

No ducks though

Chris just LOVES his picture taken

I told him to smile.. I guess I should have been more specific...he did smile ha!

I initially bought it as a joke.. but dang I love it

My ears and cheeks stay so warm out in the boat

No worries she only had on thermals, and jeans, and a shirt, and sweatshirt, and coat, and life jacket, and beanie, and hoodie and another coat on top of that

We went back out Friday afternoon to Perry

Kennedy fell asleep in the truck before we even made it to the dirt road

She was out cold

So we got her out of the truck, put her life jacket on and she didnt even wake up

Chris and I made her a bed in the bottom of the boat with coats to lay on and then covered her up in two more coats and made pillows from hats and gloves

She slept the ENTIRE HUNT

We had the boat beached with the blind up and were shooting from the boat

Didnt even phase her

I got a shot at a group of swans

Wasnt able to drop one :(

This guy flew in and landed in the decoys quite a ways away

I told Chris I was going to try and shoot him

He didnt think I could get him since he was a ways out there

But here he is! My first duck of the season

It was kind of funny to get back into where we were there were a lot of sharp turns and Chris's boat is kind of long

There were some spots we had to get out and kind of push it through the curves

One point he got out to pull the front end through

I went back and took over the motor

I think it kinda surprised him :)

We got us unstuck and I drove us out

He didnt quite know what to think about me driving the boat.. and neither did the boat full of guys I passed ha!

My dad taught me well

cranberrys, turkeys and pheasants

Chris and Dad went to go guide up at the club

They had all the birds set out already and the client no showed

So they had to go shoot them all dang it :)

Ive been getting so excited for Thanksgiving and getting everything ready to cook

I made two types of cranberry sauce the other day

One with jalapenos and one with out

Added a little limon run for flavoring

Ended up with a good spice

I couldn't wait to try it so I baked some pheasant breasts up, made some rolls, stuffing and green beans

It was fabulous and curbed my craving for Thanksgiving food for a week or so

Kennedy made these cute crafts at preschool

The turkey asked what she was thankful for..

her answer was preschool

Parkers was snails..

And I got Kinlie all cute and ready for school pictures

Snowy Saturday

Saturday morning Chris was supposed to go guiding at the pheasant club with my dad to learn how to run dads dogs

Chris was SO excited to go

Wouldnt ya know Saturday morning at 0530 he gets a phone call from work that he needed to go in and plow

This is the football field at WSU about 1030 in the morning

They had a football game at 1pm 

He spent most the day at work

Kennedy and I went over to Todd and Janas for breakfast

Jana and Kennedy spent the morning coloring

Then Kennedy and I went to meet my cute pregnant friend Brittany for lunch at Old Grist Mill

Her belly is getting so big!!

That night was the annual Oyster Fry at the Masonic Lodge in Corinne

A tradition!

Mom had specific instructions to get pictures of all those there she knew

They serve ham too for those who dont like oysters

We all drove out in Chris's truck because he needed to get diesel after

We dropped off his parents and went to Walmart

I couldnt find my dang snow scraper

I'd looked all over for it

As we were leaving the store Chris pulled forward and his truck wouldnt turn

He got out to look and the tie rod on the drivers side had busted off

He had been in an accident a few months ago and his truck had been repaired

His truck was hit on the drivers side and they had to replace the tire and a few other parts

We're betting the tie rod was cracked and the 27* weather it was last night broke it

We had to call Todd to come get us girls and Chris called a tow truck

His truck is still under warranty so we decided to let them fix it instead of us doing it in the Walmart parking lot just in case there was anything else that was broken too

We were just glad that the truck didn't break while we were driving it.. especially since we just had everyone inside of it

It could have been very bad!!

DU and glitter

Last weekend I went to my first Ducks Unlimited Banquet

Chris and his dad are big into it

Jana, Todd, Hunter, Chris and I all went

Chris normally buys a lot of pictures

This year he wasn't hardly bidding on anything

A picture came up he had wanted and he didn't even try

He was standing behind me helping then with the auction

When we first got there we were looking around at all the stuff they had for raffle and auction

I saw a Henry lever action .22 and said I want that!

I love lever actions and I love .22's

I didnt even think anything of it when it came up for bid

One of our other friends were bidding on it and I couldnt see Chris behind me

I had NO CLUE he bought it until they closed the bid and he said what his number was

I turned around and there he was just a smiling

He brought over the receipt and said here's your gun babe

We went up yesterday and picked it up from the Neal's Guns in Smithfield who donated it to the raffle

I got bored today...

and Pinterest damn you..

It got me started on some projects

This is how to sum it up pretty much!!!

I made my antlers from last year all girly

The rack itself is actually covered in glitter its just hard to tell

The bottom has a lot of glitter and it lightens up as you go up

Its silver underneath with pink on top

Um I also was left unsupervised with a FULL can of spray paint

I couldnt help myself!

I really have been wanting to do our spare half bathroom in GLITTER

So I started and glittered and painted our toilet seat

Yeah I did

I saw an awesome pict on Pinterest and decided it was time!
I need to do a second coat on it but its kinda cool

Also painted a mason jar to hold toothbrushes

Painted the light switch covers in paint and put a clear coat of GLOW IN THE DARK pain!!!

And painted the trash can too lol

Obsessions

Currently I am seriously obsessed with ripped jeans

Especially ripped skinny jeans

I cant stop eating KitKats

Pretty sure I have created a shortage in the world...

I am seriously considering this!!!!!!!!

and have been LOVING this album

Cant stop listening to Skillet songs!

My southern belle

Last night when I got home from work Kennedy was a cowgirl

She was walking around the house talking with an accent and it was the funniest dang thing Ive heard

She sounded a lot more like a southern belle with a soft drawl

She wore her wedding ring, carrying her princess mirror that she was pretending was her cowgirl mirror, and her beach hat...which at the time was a cowgirl hat

We needed to run to the store last night and of course I let her go out wearing all that

On the way home she pipes up out of the back seat

"MOM! This is RIDICULOUS!!! We have passed two houses with blow up turkeys in the front yard. They look the same and its confusing me making me think they are the same houses!"

I laughed at her and said I don't know what to do with you sometimes Kennedy

She replied "good grief" and put her hand on her forehead

She is too much

I went in to wake her up for the morning and she had stuffed her cat under her shirt and was sleeping with it all cuddled up

Oh and Thursday.. the day after Halloween mom left again

She was sent to Trenton NJ to start with

Not sure where shes' specifically at.. but in that area

She has said that the devastation there is worse than when she went down for Katrina

So that means 2 things..

1- She will probably be gone quite a while

2-This blog is going to go back to the random updates to keep her in the loop of whats happening at home so enjoy!

I designed myself!!!!

Oh my dear sweet Kennedy was quietly coloring in her room and behaving... I thought. She came downstairs and very proudly proclaimed "mom! I designed myself! Look I gave myself a nose ring!" She filled in her belly button, around her eyes, drew a nose ring, prison tattoos on her fingers lol.

And yes. I let her stay like that all day. I even let her go out in public like that. Why not. You're only four once. She's so creatively different. She has her own mind that's for sure!!
