Weekly Randoms

Oh what a busy crazy week we have had as usual

So much to catch up on but a few things to tide you over til then!

Kennedy sure has been super clingly to Daddy Chris lately

The night before mom came home dad made us nachos and margaritas

Ok maybe I stopped by on my way home from work and Chris had been helping dad with stuff all day

MMM I made a caramel apple crisp

Chris and I went to the new Apple Creek store in Willard

It was so awesome!!

There are two days a week we carpool to work..

Oh yeah.. I might not have mentioned he started a new job a month ago

He now is an employee of Weber State woo woo!!

He works for facilities

Well the days we car pool he gets off work at 3.. and I am done at 2.. so I have an hour to kill at work before he picks me up

So I have started going to the gym at work again eek!!

Its been SO long since Ive been there

So he picks me up after work.. rockin the work out hair...sweats.. and tank top..

I feel homeless of course because I am one of those people who CANNOT wear sweats in public..

ANYWAYS

We go to the store..

Yeah in public.. in sweats and all nasty looking

It was rough.. but I made it through it

The store was SO worth it!!

This entire isle is FULL OF SPRINKLES!!!!

They had so many neat things and cooking stuff!!

I found a bottle of Fanta..

See Fanta (the red one) holds child hood memories for me

When I was little.. like 3, 4, 5 little

My dad and I would always stop into the old Willard Fire Station..

The OLD one that was just off 89 thats tore down now

He would always get me a red Fanta in the bottle from inside

They had a glass bottle pop machine in there

Every time I see a bottle of Fanta I remember sitting inside his dodge pickup and drinking it

Inside Apple Creek we also bought some Trail bologna, smoked cheddar (mmm!!) baby dill pickles and Chris wanted some HOT dill pickles

Oh man they have some spice!!

But are really good

They have so many yummy jams there I want to try!!

Kennedy and Parker were supposed to be eatin breakfast when I hear

MMM this is the best caramel ever!!

They WERE eating their cereal but also decided to cut up pieces of bread and cover them in Hersheys Syrup and Caramel Topping

My mom came back from Louisianna

Parker and Kennedy had just got out of the tub and were so excited to see her

It doesnt sound like she will be home very long though

If Frankenstorm is anything like its supposed to be she will be headed out again soon!

Kennedy got herself all ready for the store

Dressed herself

Filled her purse full of toys

and put on her firehelmet

Shes in this aweful strike a nerdy pose phase for pictures..

She has came up with some really interesting ones lately

I made some philly steak and cheese pizza that turned out amazing

Thats about it for the random phone picture catchup for the week!

Guys Deer Hunt

Todd, Hunter and Chris left Friday after work to go up to the cabin to hunt

Opening morning Todd and Hunter each got a deer

Hunters is a 2pt and Todds is a 2x3

Chris shot his deer the next morning

A nice 3x4

This was the largest deer Chris has ever shot

All deer had great size bodies and plenty of meat

Kennedy was staying with Grandma Jana on Sunday while I worked and the boys came home

She had just gotten out of the tub when the arrived and was so excited to see all the deer

We sure have been very very lucky to get so much meat this year to fill our freezers with and feed the family!!

Congrats guys!!!!

Fall shooting

This weekend was my first deer widows weekend ever!!

It was kind of strange and the most time Chris and I have spent apart since we really started dating

I already had got my deer and had to work overtime so I stayed home and let the boys go

Kennedy and I sure kept busy!!

Peanut crashed out on the couch all hidden in her blankets

Liz, Zack, the kids and I all went shooting

We had a lot of fun as usual

I hadn't hung out with my brother from another mother in a long time

The hills were alive with fall colors

Kennedy had to wait her turn to shoot Kinlies .22 and she wasnt happy about it!

But mom I want to shoot!!!

Of course she wanted Uncle Zack to help her shoot and not mom

We had a few quick shoot competitions

A few distance ones

Then I had Zack throw some water bottles in the air for me to see if I could hit them with my .22 pistol

I did!! 

I was so surprised

Fall Crafts, Wedding Dresses, Field Trips and a moose

Kennedy and Parker went on a field trip to the Brigham City Fire Station

Kennedy was SO excited for a week prior

She kept asking when she got to go to where Daddy Chris and Grandpa Todd worked at

Their preschool walked over there and Elysha went along to help watch kids

Kennedy got to try on some turn outs and was pretty  happy

Hunter came up to spend the weekend with us before the boys left for deer camp

We painted pumpkins while Chris was at fire drill one night

The next day was Auntie Jessie's DayCare

I had Kinlie and Rylee so they got to paint pumpkins too

I made wood crafts I have had since two years ago at least that I never did

Kennedy and I also made homemade laundry detergent

One place I read about said if you microwave the bar of soap you can shred it with your hands instead of having to grate it..

totally works!!!

Oh yeah..

and these two girlies came with me to try on wedding dresses

I found an awesome rental place online

This lady runs it out of her home

She was so sweet and it was so much fun trying on dresses

I highly recommend her if you're looking to rent!!!

Oh yeah and I FOUND THE DRESS :)

Now only if April can get here fast enough!

Bridal Brilliance

We also finished up the elk hunt with out any elk

We went up the last day just to see if we could find anything

Saw a lot of bull moose

This one was SO close to us but phone pictures dont make it look like that

He was coming down to a pond to drink

Saw us and took off up the hill

Chris and Hunter were trying to get his attention to get him to stop with no luck

Kennedy did her bull moose call and he stopped DEAD in his tracks, TURNED and looked at her

Kandaces 40th Bday

Last night was Kandaces 40th bday surprise party!

Everyone met at Jelbas around 7:30 and she showed up at 8

We were in the back room and it was all decorated cute

Dad decided he wanted to come out and play

This was our first time at the bar with our dad!

Liz came out too!

Chris, Me, Liz, Zack and Melissa

Pretty much a family event ha

Liz and I had to get our picts with our dad

It was a fun night

Good to see lots of friends we hadnt seen in a really long time

We weren't able to stay for too long though because I had to work at 6 am the next morning so we cut it short and I didnt end up getting many pictures either

Happy Birthday to my Kandace!!!

BRB Softball

We had a fall softball team that our season just finished up

I was horrible this year about taking pictures!

So I only have some from the last two games and missed some people that played in the earlier part of the season

Fall games are double headers so the season was extra short

We were sponsored by BRB

Our team did awesome this season and finished with a 5-3 woo woo!

The Elk Hunt Week

Pretty much the last two weeks were spent up at the cabin for the elk hunt

We left Friday the 5th

Kennedy and I had a few things we had to do to get ready before we could leave

Some of it was shopping

Which included getting her Halloween costume

She wanted to be Spider Girl

I let her wear it around the house 

It was too rough and she crashed for a while

Chris, Todd, Hunter, Kennedy and I all went to the cabin Friday night

The hunt opened Saturday morning

Between us all had 3 spike tags and one cow tag

Todd filled his cow tag opening morning

It was SO cold to start with but warmed up finally 

We did a little cruising around looking for elk

We were on their private property so Kennedy rode up front with Grandpa for a while

She thought that was the coolest thing 

There was lots of hanging out by the campfire

Makin smores

Todd and Hunter left Sunday afternoon

We came down to hang the elk in the cooler and head back up

Monday morning Chris's friends from work were up in that area too and had a few cow tags

We brought them over to where we were hunting and they ended up filling two of their cow tags

Kennedy and I were off in one spot while Jason, Mike and Dillon were brushing an area

Jasons wife Tammy was across the hill from us watching another spot

The guys were brushing the trees down hill towards us girls so anything that they spooked should run down to us

Kennedy was sitting by me on a log and I turned around and she had found a piece of wood and was playing the violin

She is too much sometimes!

We didnt see ANY spikes

Saw a lot of bucks.. including the two on the left who were headbutting and playing

A TON of doe and fawns

Most doe had twins with them

A lot of bull moose

Ton of grouse

Antelope

A few nice bulls

But no spikes

Chris, Kennedy and her puppy Chocolate took a nap

We came home Wednesday to shower up and I had a softball game that night

We were eating dinner at 5:45 when my dad called

He said oh hey we are having a safety fair and cutting up cars, I bet Kenned would love it! You guys should come down.. it goes from 5-7.. so we hurried and headed to Ogden

Dad waited for Kennedy and cut up a car just so her and Kinlie could watch

They thought it was pretty cool

(He's the one in the white helmet)

and there was all kinds of other neat kids safety fair stuff

We headed from there over to our final fall softball game for a team I was playing on sponsored by BRB

Early that next morning we got started cutting up the three elk

Dad and Dane each got a nice bull opening morning out in Snowville

Elysha brought donuts

We turned on movies for the kids inside Liz's house before they all had to go to school and spent all day cutting and wrapping!

As soon as we were done we showered and headed back to camp

As usual Kennedy cant stay awake on the wheeler

One day we took a long adventure and ended up in Randolph

We saw some neat country and cool logging areas

I wore my furry hat.. it may be ugly but let me tell you it was SO WARM in the cold wind

They were doing a lot of burns in the area during the hunt which sucked

Mill hollow, they burned all of Elk Valley

It really messed up the elks normal habits and filled the air with so much smoke

It made my allergies twice as bad

But it did make some cool looking mornings

We would sit and watch the fire and smoke over the ridge when we were at camp

We could see the lights of the trucks and watched the helicopters drop in water

Kennedy had been making an elk call noise with her mouth

It was so funny

She started doing it over and over and over outside 

She ended up calling in a bull moose!!

Seriously!!

She was SO excited about that

You can see her on the wheeler calling and the moose in the treeline

Friday the weather was kind of sucky and we spent some time just hanging out at camp

Kennedy curled up in the recliner and was watching movies

I tried to wear the lucky elk hat for luck but it didnt work

We took a drive over to Elk Valley to see what they had burned

Saw a nice bull but no spikes

We came home empty handed so far

However we hadnt heard of ANYONE getting or seeing ANY spikes at all in the area we were hunting.. so that made us feel a little better! 

We still have a few more days until it closes but its back to the real world and work for us

We will be able to get in an evening hunt or two so cross your fingers we will get at least one!
