Sunday morning the Dads, Chris and I headed down to fish early in the morning.. like 7am!
The morning started off slow
It was cloudy and overcast
Water was smooth as glass
I seemed to be the only one really catching anything
Most were 12-13 inches
Nothing too big
Dad wasnt getting any bites at all
Todd had caught a little one or two he turned back
Then all of a sudden dads pole got a hit after probably two hours of nothing
He pulled in this FREAK fish!
It was about 17 inches long and 5 inches wide!
I had never seen a trout shaped like this before!
He had to have been close to 4lbs
Dad couldn't fit his hand around the fish!
Mom, Jana and Kennedy came down around 1030 or so and brought us provisions
They also brought a windstorm with them!
Chris finally caught a fish!
He was struggling this morning
Once he caught one he started catching more
Kennedy 'helped' Grandpa bring in a fish
Then she had to help me bring in one too
Fishing slowed down some after that and she went to help Grandma Chris fish..
She got bored and started fishing for crayfish
I brought in a nice fish.. it was 18 inches
Todd brought in another 18 incher too!
Then my pole got hit
A good hit
The fish were being fighters anyways
We were watching them jump with the bait in their mouths as we were bringing them in
But this next one was a strong sucker
My drag was winding out as I was reeling in
He was fighting me hard
I was so excited!
It gets my adrenaline going and I love the sound of the line going out as youre reeling in!
I start to get him in close and I can see hes big
Im backing up as Im reeling hoping to get him into the shore
He goes into almost a death roll like an alligator and wraps the line around his tail.. like you'd tie it on if you were baiting with a minow
I drag him into shore and see Ive got him lip hooked
Its a good hook..but as bad as he was fighting if he wouldnt have wrapped the line around his tail he probably would have ripped his lip
This one was a whopping 19 inches!
Biggest rainbow trout Ive ever caught in my life
I have to brag a little and say it was a dang nice fish!
Between the 7 of us we caught 22 fish!!
Not a bad afternoon at all!!!
Best picture we could get ha!
Kennedy was struggling
You can see dads big fish is eating a few smaller fish inside it lol!
We headed back to camp, had some lunch and filleted out the fish from the last 3 days..
48 fish!!!!
We vacuumed sealed them up
Dads going to smoke a bunch of them
Look at those beautiful fillets!
After our late lunch we all took naps!
Hung around camp some
Had brats for dinner mmmm
Then the games of washers started
These guys were in a camp across from us and were hilarous!
We played way into dark
Todd and Dad were the reigning champions this night!
This picture cracks me up!
Sorry but underwears not any different than a swimming suit!
Chris fell asleep outside in the sun..
He got a little fried and his tan lines were hilarous!
