On Saturday was the funeral for Sheriff Yeates. All the fire and ems agencies took apparatus to line the streets as the procession started up the canyon. Chris and I were asked to take the County Brush truck as part of Box Elder County Fire. The funeral started at 10 and set up was around 11. We didnt go to the funeral since we were going to be in the line up. The services were in Brigham but the burial was in Millville.
The truck we were in
Willard was there of course too.
Dad was wearing his Box Elder County Fire Marshall hat that day and was in charge of the static line (where we were all at)

I hate and love law enforcement or fireman funerals. They are the most emotional ones you ever go to. Our job was to stand by our fire trucks with our lights on and as the procession started we had to salute when he went by. After that we had to stand at attention as the entire procession passed. Its horrible. You stand there still stony faced while everyone passing you is bawling. There is no way you can stay dry eyed.
As soon as the procession passed we had to hurry and jump in our trucks and catch the tail end and follow it to the gravesite.
Engine 52 and FM1
Logan area was covered in heavy fog and all the trees fields and leaves were covered in ice
As soon as we hit Millville city limits it was lined with flags the entire route to the cemetery. They had the mounted posse lining the entrance.
From there we went to the grave site where they brought the casket in, dedicated the grave, gave a gun salute, played taps on bagpipes and did the final 10-42.
