Golden Spike Classic Indoor 3d Shoot Setup

Friday morning we started with an empty arena. We were in the new bigger building at the Box Elder County Fairgrounds in Tremonton. We had just one day to transform this into our shoot.
Chris's job was dirt work. He told the guy what we needed and where. I had to haul the trailer out with all the supplies and animals in it we loaded the weekend before. I met Chris and Wayne out there after I dropped Kennedy off at school. From there we headed back to Willard to meet the rest of the group that would be loading trees.
We had 3 trailers and two trucks full of trees! Each year Robinson Tree Farms from Montana donates us their left over trees that they dont sell. We go load them at their lots and store them in a field for two months until its time for the shoot.
We headed back to Tremonton to finish putting the area together and it started snowing hard
We have to line the walls with 8ft sheets of plywood ALL around the entire area arrows will be flying. This makes a great backstop so the arrows dont go into the new building. In front of the plywood we line it with Christmas trees for decor and also to stop the arrows before they hit the plywood.
Once the plywood is up and the trees are lined we put out bow racks, targets and everything else thats left.
We build up the dirt mounds for the different shoots

Drill the stands into the trees that will be in the middle of the arena
About this time we took a break for pizza and drinks. We put out signs besides the banners we had for all of our great sponsors who donate prizes and other items to make our shoots so great!
Ashley (who is also the founder/owner of Bow Snow...check her out on FB) and I outside getting supplies in a blizzard. 10 minutes later the snow was gone and it was sunny and blue skies.
We have to pound rebar into the ground for all the animals to be stood on
also decide where to place the animals for each shooting station and make sure it doesnt interfere with the other stations. That the shooters arent in each others ways and the shots are clear.
We set each station 7 1/2 feet apart
Bow racks are ready. Banners are hung. Decorations out.
Then we have to go from each station and mark whats being shot and range find it to mark the yardage as well.

After a full day of hard work we were ready for the shoot to open on Saturday!
