Kennedys Sunday Birthday

Sunday night we did our other family celebration at dinner. Jana and Todd let Kennedy pick dinner. She wanted Mac n Cheese and then wanted them to make hamburgers for everyone else in case they didnt like Mac n Cheese. Ash made her amazing mushrooms. Kathy brought her jello salad. I ate so much it hurt. I dont know if I was just hungry or what but it was amazing. Dad, Elysha and her family, Liz and her family and Phil couldnt make it because they ALL were sick with that nasty crud that has been going around. Mom made Kennedy two cakes. She wanted strawberry with chocolate frosting and then mom made a red velvet with chocolate frosting. We sang Happy Birthday and had her blow out her candles.
Kennedy brought her doll she got for Christmas. It and her were wearing matching clothes. I shouldn't say her doll.. its her daughter. She kept feeding her daughter food during dinner. Zack was deemed the official daughter holder by Kennedy. Every time she needed to do something she said to him here hold my daughter and then went to do what she needed to.
After dinner and cake was presents.
Jana made Kennedy this beautiful quilt. I think she liked it.
Next was the box from Uncle Zack. Dad had to help her open it and dig through all the packing peanuts.
She pulled out a nerf gun.
Zack said what else is in there
She pulled out a second nerf gun
Zack said what else is in there
She pulled out a third nerf gun
He said what else is in there
She pulled out a fourth nerf gun
He said what else is in there
She pulled out two packs of nerf darts
He bought her 4 of them so we all can play together

With four nerf guns you have to try them out! We had a little nerf gun war in the kitchen
We had a great dinner thank you everyone for once again spoiling her!

Week 2- Trains, Trax and Fires

Monday I get home from my 12 hour shift and Chris has dinner ready. I love him. Kennedy shows me her note from school that its her birthday week. I had remembered for MONTHS that we needed to do a poster and her birthday week at school was coming up. Right up until the week before her birthday. Something about Christmas vacation, Christmas etc I forgot. Well we need a poster for school tomorrow with all her stuff on it. So we ate dinner, went to Walmart and let her pick out her poster board and went to my parents to print off pictures. We started printing off pictures and I realized Kennedy is kind of a badass. I mean really she is. How many 5 year olds hobbies are hunting (several species) fishing, four wheeling, snowmobiling, shooting their bow... and the list goes on and on. She wants to be a firefighter and a veterinarian when she grows up. She loves pink, purple, camo and dolls.
Oh and she HAD to have her poster board have her full name on it.
Kennedy Jeigh Curfew Richards
She is a Richards. Ask her.
I was going through some old pictures and found this one of the twins jumping on my bed when I was little. I was shocked at how much Kennedy looks like Elyshas pictures. Elysha is the one in the grey.
Tuesday Kennedys sisters took her out to dinner and shopping for her birthday. She was really excited. She doesnt get to see her sisters much and loves spending time with them.
This was my Tuesday at work.
Trax vs Person on my channel
(all these work picts are from news sites)
This was my Wednesday (which thankfully was my friday)
Train derailment..

It had been a long week. I have been exhausted lately. Kennedy had her first night of archery again Wednesday. They started a new class. I was tired, I had a long week. I wasnt cooking. I text Chris and told him he was on his own for dinner. We have to be at archery at 5 in Brigham. He gets off work at 4:30 in Ogden. Plus I had to get gas and go to Walmart after archery. I told him I was eating ice cream for dinner and he could eat whatever he wanted but I wasnt cooking. He is a very smart man. He told me he loved me and that was just fine.
And I did eat ice cream for dinner. I ate an entire pint.
And it was fabulous!
Thursday night after the day of Kennedy we had Macee Moo over night.
Friday as I was grocery shopping my Dad called and needed some help. Official business. Since Im on the fire dept for Willard Im technically an employee and can help him out with official business for his fire marshall job. He needed someone to drive a truck for him and I qualified. We had to go out to the air port in Tremonton. Load all the supplies on a brush truck. Water tank, pump, rack, tool boxes etc. So we pretty much made a brush truck
We had to drive it to the place that was hooking all the stuff on it.
As soon as we dropped off the truck there was a call dad had to go on so I got to go with him. It was just a semi whose brakes caught on fire heading up the canyon but it was fun to run hot there. Plus I got to just sit in the truck and stay warm! It was really fun getting to hang out with Dad for the day and see part of what he does at the new job.
I also made my first cinnamon raisin bread. Super exciting I know :)

The day of Kennedy

Little Miss Peanut turned 6!
Shes grown up so fast.

My goal this year was to keep her birthday low key and simple.. ya that didnt happen!! Its hard when you have so many people who love her and fun things you want to do! So in the end she got completely spoiled.. and we still have Sunday dinner to go where we really planned on celebrating it with cake and all.

She woke up that morning and told me that she feels taller. She is pretty sure now that shes 6 shes grown a little over night. Daddy Chris was off snowplowing since 0200 that morning so he didnt get to see her. He called her as we were getting ready for school to wish her happy birthday. We went to school where she passed out treats for her class. They sang her happy birthday. She got to have a show and tell and wear a tiara. Its really a cardboard crown but shes adamant its a tiara.

From there I celebrated her birthday by getting a massage. Ok really I had a gift card I needed to use before it expired.. but it sounds good lol! By the time I was done she was out of school. We picked up my mom and headed to a birthday lunch at Melinas where Grandma Jana met us. She opened her present from Grandma and Grandpa. A matching clothes set for her and her doll.
Of course she wore her birthday tiara when we went to eat and told the lady it was her birthday. They sang to her and she thought it was so neat she got to wear a hat and got fried ice cream.

 Jana, Kennedy and Mom
From there as a tradition we went to get her a new pair of boots. Each year on her birthday thats what she gets. Its nice to have that planned since her birthday is so close to Christmas and she usually is needing a new pair by then. These are the cute ones she picked out.
We got home and Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Roy stopped by with a birthday present for her and to see her. Then after they left Grandma Zola stopped by with a present and to visit her. By then it was 5:30 and Chris was just getting home from work. Poor boy worked from 2am to 5:30 pm plowing because its was a BLIZZARD all day. He had time to hurry and shower. We had to be in Layton at 6:30 for dinner with JaNeale, Jimmy, Hunter, Ash, Derek and Ry.
She got spoiled again :) Some clothes, neat sand and a Hello Kitty tablet cover.
Grandma brought her balloons. They sang happy birthday to her and she had dessert.
It definitely was a day full of Kennedy!
Happy birthday miss K!

Great Grandmas Funeral

Saturday morning we got all dressed up and headed to Bountiful for Great Grandmas funeral. It was at Russon Brothers. We had the viewing, the family prayer, the funeral and then headed to the Kaysville Cemetery

Dad and his brother and step brother were all pallbearers
From back to from you have BJ, Danny and Dad
The graveside was short. It was freezing. They dedicated the grave and that was bout it.
Here is Grandpa with his sister and one brother who was able to make it.
After that Grandpa and Grandma took all their kids and grandkids out to Golden Corral for lunch. Mom and Dad had to leave and werent able to attend. Liz and her family didnt make it to the funeral. So Elysha, Parker, Macee, Chris, Kennedy and I were a family lol. My dads brother Dan and his wife and one son came, his step brother BJ and his wife came and my Aunt Tami.
Chris was our shared husband that day. Elysha and I joked he was practicing for polygamy. Since her husband wasnt there Chris took the roles of dad and hubby for both her and I ha. He carried Macee for her, and her carseat since it was slippery out everywhere we went. We sat at a table and it was Elysha, Kennedy, Parker, Macee and I. He helped Parker get his plate and I got Kennedy's. He made sure both kids ate their food. He brought them both cotton candy. He carried Macees car seat back out to the car and each time made sure she was hooked in right. It was hilarious. I love it. I told him he looked pretty good with a car seat and he told me I better not get any ideas.

Weekly going ons- Week 1

Its been weird not 'having' to blog every day. I still keep taking pictures like I should be and trying to remember I dont have to lol! Ive been trying to think of a new theme for this year. My mom, who yells at me if I dont blog daily, came up with the idea of 52 weeks of pictures after I said I didnt think I was going to do 365 days. So I am going to try 52 weeks of random updates, pictures, general stories etc. Although there will be posts that will still be on their own of super exciting or informative things ha!
So to start off our new week we had horrible yucky inversion. Nasty. The skies were brown and there was a clear line of gunk.

I need my hair cut this week and I went to get a hold of my hair girl and found out she moved from the place I went to in BC to Tremonton.. I really like her and her work so I figured what the hell.. its just a little bit of a drive. So I left Kennedy with Chris and headed out for a little me time. I actually really love her new place! Its so NORMAL!! Im not your usual girl. I get intimidated by hair salons! I hate feeling like I have to dress up to go in there.. and then pick apart everything about me from my eyebrows to my skin as Im sitting there with all these girls with perfect hair gossiping around me. This new place as I walked in one lady was late 40's cutting hair wearing jeans and sneakers. There was a mom with foil in her hair bouncing one baby one her knee as her toddler sat next to her. Half the clients that came in while I was there were cute little old ladies who couldn't hear. It was fabulous and so relaxed and nice! I loved it! When I was leaving I was looking at my hair and realized I have a lot of red in there now??? I started with brown hair.. dyed it brown black.. two weeks later you get this!? I always have had a tiny tiny bit of red.. like a strand here and there.. but dang!
Kennedy finally got to wear her new boots she got from Grandma JaNeale for Christmas to school. She kept saying I feel so tall in these boots! Do I look taller?? I feel taller.
We also FINALLY got our baseboards back up by the fire place. I feel so much better now. It has been driving me insane. Once we got the baseboards back on I painted the walls where it took part of the paper and paint off. Then I touched up some of the paint on the walls.. and after spending that much time closely looking at my walls I decided they were DISGUSTING! So many dirt marks, or hand prints, or dust from the fire place. I went on a mad wall cleaning spree. I HATE washing walls. HATE
After all that I needed a Diet Coke and a break
I ordered a cute new belt the other day. I needed something to go with my new Girls With Guns belt buckle and I found the PERFECT belt..
Pink camo with rhinestone crossed pistols.
Saturday after the viewing Kennedy went to Elyshas house to play. Her and Parker schemed it over lunch. Chris and I went to his parents house to chop wood. Its kind of a semi shared wood pile. It had been bothering Chris it wasn't done and the wood wasn't stacked. So we layed down a pallet, organized the wood pile and he split more wood
So when my part of the work was done I got to sit and watch Chris chop wood
Dang it was rough watching his muscles work and him sing songs
Then the jacket came off and I cheered. He started laughing and Im sure he thought I'd lost it. I told him the shirt was next.

365- 2013 Out with a .....

We are REAL party animals here in the Richards household. I worked New Years Eve day. I came home and had Kennedy and I take a nap so we could stay up. Chris worked til 4:30 and then had to run to SLC with his Dad. They went down there yesterday to meet a guy to buy a log splitter. The guy called them as they were almost there and said his son was in the er he wouldnt be able to make it. But he promised to meet them tomorrow at 6th south in SLC and even gave a business name at 6:30pm to sell them the splitter. Chris and Todd headed down and tried to call and text the guy several times. No answer. They waited at the place til 7 and he never showed, returned texts or calls so they headed home. Chris got home a little after 8. He and Kennedy played on her tablet for a minute and then he was asleep on the couch by 830. He wanted to go to bed but I told him we couldnt. Its NEW YEARS EVE! Kennedys so excited to get to stay up til midnight. See all the fun that happens. We had several places we were invited to go to.. and we were waiting to see when Chris got home before we really said yes or no.. and then he fell asleep lol! So Kennedy watched a movie upstairs.
Zack came over around 10. We watched some TV. Kennedy brought down her blanket and climbed up on Zacks lap. She loves Uncle Zack.
About 20 minutes later she is OUT
Chris was still asleep. This is how we spent our New Year together
Zack and I tried to wake Kennedy a few minutes before midnight so she could see the ball drop. No such luck. Chris was out on the couch. Kennedy asleep on Zacks lap. Im barely awake. I have to work at 6am the next morning and Zacks pretty much asleep in the recliner.
We said "Happy New Year" and BOOOOM BOOOM BOOOM
Chris jumped up off the couch and Kennedy woke up.
The fire dept was lighting off fireworks at the school right across the street from us
So I went outside and watched
