313-Be a Girl Shoot

Saturday morning was the much awaited Be a Girl Shoot. This is the 2nd year we have done it. I never know quite what to expect when you show up there.. some of the guys are so well dressed up it takes a minute to adjust too. When I first saw Todd I couldnt stop laughing.. It was almost too much. Macee didnt mind. She loved holding onto Grandpas braids
and then there was my dad.. its sad when your dad is a hotter woman than you are..and can wear higher heels!!

Kinlie and Kennedy (both with out knowing the other one was) wanted to wear their princess dresses for the day.
Mom and Jana ran the registration booth for the day
Phil running one of the shooting lines. We had shooting lines at 9, 11, 1, 3 and 5. Its $15 per person to shoot a round (30 arrows) and while you are shooting there are balloons next to the targets. Each balloon you shoot is $1 and there is a number inside. The number goes to sheet of paper that randomly has prizes assigned to different numbers.
For breakfast they were selling a plate of biscuits and gravy for $5 and it came with a drink For lunch was your choice of BBQ beef, sweet pork or hot chicken sandwiches, a bag of chips and a drink. There also were Lucys Cupcakes for $1.50, Tshirts and hats, and raffle tickets for some AMAZING prizes that were donated

Also there are awards for best dressed male and female, most creative, best male and female under 16.
There also was a photo board set up
Erin and Phil
Dad, Liz, Kyle and Shaffer
 Kyle
The part that cracked me up the most was you have this line of dresses shooting.. then they pull back their bows and bam there is the armpit hair. Something about them being all dressed up then being shocked with armpit hair was too much!
Chris and I. We went with the "little black dress" theme
 Dad and Julisa
Chris, Me, Kennedy, Dad, Kinlie, Kyle and Parker
Todd and I. Every time he kept walking up next to me he kept accidentally bumping me with his boobs. It was so funny watching all these men adjust to hair, boobs, earrings etc. I cant tell you how many times throughout the day I heard them say how they had a new respect for women and all we have to wear.. especially those who wore bras or pantyhose.. and every single one of them kept smearing their make up and then complaining about it
 Chris, Grandpa Roy and Todd
 Jeff
He was so funny I too his picture for him and he saw it and said no.. I have to go suck in my tummy and try this again!
The smallest shooting line we had all day long

The Exectutive Director of the Utah Susan G Komen foundation Debbie Mintowt and her husband came to support US at the shoot. She said last year when they were notified of what we were doing they thought.. um you want to do what!??! But then when we took them a check for $2000 it quickly changed their minds and this year they had to come see what it was all about! They also brought wristbands, bandannas, boas, usb plugs with the symbol on them and other prizes to add to the raffles and to give away to those participating.
Her husband put on a dress and heels (and boobs) and strutted his stuff!

Debbie and her husband had never touched a bow before and wanted to learn. So Dad set them up with bows and they shot a round. They learned pretty fast and had a blast!

The Douglas family. I love their boys. I want to take them home with me. They are just so stinking cute and respectful.

Mom, Me and Jana at the end of the shoot and exhausted!
They gave away two expensive releases in the raffles so the company who donated them wanted pictures of the recipients.. and their dresses....
All of the people who came and dressed up had their picture taken and will be entered in to receive the barbie awards.. however there was one who clearly won in his catagory. Kolt Douglas won the Best Dressed Male under 16. He had his cute little bonnet and make up and boobs. He put a lot of effort into his costume! So he was presented with the award right before it ended and he was so excited!

I cant wait to see the stats from this years shoot. We had over 80 shooters! Way to go everyone! The dresses were more amazing this year and so many of the men were less afraid to dress up and really had fun with it. Thats what its all about. Having fun and raising money for a good cause!! Thank you so much for all those who helped and participated!
Dont worry there will be a follow up post with more pictures later!

Here is one of the groups for the day
