Week 39- Sassy pants, hunting, Blake Shelton

Kennedy and I had our first brownie in a mug experience. It wasnt too bad. It could have used more sugar but it was still good and totally took care of the chocolate craving we were having.
One night Chris and I both rode the 80 together over to his parents house. BOTH OF US on that tiny bike. He thought it would be fun to try. I laughed the entire way. So did everyone we passed!

Miss K.... man this kid has been on one lately!!

Monday she came home from school and took all her homework out of her backpack and hid it in her room so she didnt have to do it... because in her words "Thats why she goes to school is to learn. Why should she have to do homework at home. The teachers job is to give her work to do at school not at home. Thats what school is for"

One night she was outback with Taylor and Chris. I was inside and fell asleep on the couch. They left about 7 and went over to his dads. I figured K went with them since she didnt come inside. I woke up at 8 and called Chris. I asked him if he would get K ready for bed when they got home and I was going to bed. He said sure we will be home in just a minute. About 10 min later he walks in and yells for Kennedy. I asked him why he was yelling at her if she was with him. He says she wasnt with me.. shes here. She was playing out back and didnt want to go with us. My heart dropped. She NEVER EVER leaves me alone for five minutes let alone an hour. In a normal hour shes usually comes inside at least twice to go pee, to get a drink, to get one of her 'kids' , to see what Im doing and to give me a kiss. MINIMUM.
She comes strolling in the house and I ask Chris what she was doing... She had taken a glow stick and put it on the front of her power wheels four wheeler so she could see since it was dark out and was riding it around in the backyard. I still can barely breath at this point and ask Chris again if she was really home this whole time and not with him... Miss K interrupts me at that point and says "Mom (very matter of factly) I am old enough to manage myself!!!" and she turns around and goes and gets in the shower.

Another day she was getting ready for school and I said "You can probably wear shorts today I
dont think its going to be cool".
Her reply was "Mom its Thursday. I watched the weather and they said its not supposed to be bad weather until Saturday!"

Her front tooth is super loose. She has spent the nights using my phone as a mirror and seeing how big the hole gap she makes at the top is getting.
Nothing like a hose night! We restacked about 2000 feet of hose on our engine.

I know you will all be surprised to hear this.. but can I just say I love my hubby. I love being married to him. I love how easy going and trusting he is! Thursday night Taylor and I wanted to go deer hunting. We both have archery deer tags and even though regular season is over the extended hunt is open in some areas still. Chris didnt want to go with us so he told me to just go with Taylor. So Miss K, me and Taylor packed up the wheelers and headed up Willard Basin area. K of course had to ride with Uncle Taylor. We rode for a while and then wen into this spot to walk around a little bit.

While we were there Taylor decided K needed her initials carved into a tree. So he started carving them to surprise her. He is completely 100% wrapped around her little finger.. and she knows it too.

She was SOO excited to have her initials in a tree.

We didnt see anything at all.. besides a bunch of other hunters. It was a fun night though and just as we got back to our wheelers to head home Chris got called into work. Thankfully he wasnt gone too long.
Chris's project this week was to tackle the bushes that line our fence. The posts are our fence line and half the plant is on our side and half on the other. We have offered to take them out completely for the older lady that lives on the other side. She wants to keep them there but they've destroyed the fence we had so we just trimmed up the ones that came over the fence on our end and repaired the fence.
 It was quite a project!
We ended up with a huge burn pile!
I also got my fall pumpkin done and out on the porch.
Chris's mom JaNeale asked if she could have K for another overnight Grandma weekend. Heck yes! She has so much fun doing those. JaNeale met us as we were headed to the Blake Shelton concert Friday night and we dropped her off. Shes been spoiled completely already and got a new Halloween costume. They spent Saturday at Kangaroo Zoo with Ry, Ash and Derek. Rybug got a sleepover too Saturday night. They had a blast.
Friday night me, Chris, Todd and Jana had tickets to see Blake Shelton. We had separate seats but rode together. Traffic going down there was RIDICULOUS. There were SO many accidents southbound. We had to do some rerouting and back roads but finally made it there. We were waiting in line for food when Todd took his first ever selfie and posted it to Facebook. Huge deal for him right there...
Todd and Jana ended up being just about 3 rows in front of us and towards the middle. Chris and I's seats were right on the end. PERFECT!!!
Neal McCoy mc'd most the even and sang a few songs. Dan & Shay were the opening band and then The Band Perry.
Then it was time for Blake. I just love him! As soon as he started so did the rain. It rained pretty good and the wind was crazy. All around us was lightening. After about 45 minutes it stopped and we had good weather the rest of the concert.

It was a long night! We didnt make it home until after 1230. WWWAAAAAYYYYY past Chris and I's bedtime. We are old. That next morning we were so tired we BOTH slept in til after 9. We woke up when Jana text and said they were cooking breakfast. The weather was horrible Saturday. It rained and poured pretty much all day. We went over for breakfast and then they started working on projects for an hour or so until it was time for Todd and I to go help with the C.E.R.T class that was being taught.
We had just got in the car to go get a drink before class and the pagers went off. We knew it was coming and was going to be on the freeway because there was so much water. We made it to the station and Chris went in the squad and Todd and I went in the engine. One car was in the median and another car was in the ditch. The car that went into the ditch was so lucky they stopped in time. The drivers side is in the water. No one was hurt in either car.
From there Todd and I went to C.E.R.T class and slackers Chris and Taylor went to Sportsmans warehouse.  My job was to teach the upcoming C.E.R.T team about the medical center and how to do a rapid trauma assessment on the patients.

We finished helping those guys and I went to meet Taylor and Chris at Taylors house where they were putting together all these new geese decoys Taylor bought. The boys spent a while getting all the decoys new and old ready and organized.
I was talking with Taylors mom while she was sewing a quilt when the pagers went off again... another car accident on the freeway. We all ran out of Tammy's house at once and to the station. No injuries on this one either. We had to push one truck out of the median with our muscles so it could get out of traffic and off the freeway. It was kind of nice to be able to go on calls with everyone while K was off playing with Grandma JaNeale. I made two in a day thats a record!

Week 38- carrots, bicycle and wood round 1

Sunday night dinner got a little intense with the Broncos game playing.. in a household that is almost all completely Broncos...
Kennedy got 100 % on her spelling test. So proud of her and her writing is looking better too!
School is still just wiping her out. Two days this week we had nap time after school. She was adamant Wednesday she didn't need a nap and wasn't tired. I had to wake her up at 6:30 for dinner....
We harvested all our carrots. We had so many!
Apparently we dont just grow homewrecking cucumbers.. we grow homewrecker carrots too!
We got half a five gallon bucket full!
Kennedy's been practicing riding her bike so much lately. Shes no longer afraid of it and all she wants to do is ride it.
We went for a family walk the other night just so she could ride her bike in the street.
I heard this quote on Red Band Society the other night.. I fell in love with it!
On Thursday after work I went and chopped off my hair. Almost 7 inches gone! It feel so short but I like it. It wont take 6 months and it will have grown back!
Miss K feel asleep on the ride home from my hair girls.. there marks nap #3 this week after school
Also Thursday night Todd and Janas house flooded. She was out of town for Girls Week and so it was just Todd. He called Chris in a panic five min after he left our house from having dinner. We go over there and the kitchen is full and so is the basement. All we could do was laugh and start cleaning up water. Taylor brought over an extra shop vac and him and Chris went and got this huge fan.

This week we also pet sat Chico. Mom and Dad were in Park City for CISM training.
He just wanted to snuggle the whole time.
Saturday Todd, Chris, Taylor, Kennedy, Chico and I went to cut some wood. We filled about 3 cords of our 8 cord permit. Kennedy's job was to watch Chico...and snack....
Taylor and Chris limbing a tree

There was one right on the side of the road we had to fall. They hurried and dropped it and had it cleaned up in seconds.

These three boys jobs were to cut down the trees and take off the limbs and help me carry them to the trailers. My job was to stack it on the trailer.
Miss K and I
She also took a bunch of pictures

Her face covered in chocolate!
She had to have a picture of her climbing the rock like a professional rock climber...

Not bad for a half a days work. We were tired when we got home.

But tired means nothing to my husband. After we got home it was time to unload it all off the trailer and cut it up so it can be split.
Kennedy was trying to ride her wheeler up the dirt hill.
Todd gave up sawing and let Taylor do it. Taylor has been practicing and learning while he was with us so Todd decided it was time for him to graduate to the next step.
