Friday afternoon we headed up to camp to check trail cams and drop off the trailer for the weekend. Kennedy didnt want to come with us. She had a talk in primary and Grandma Tammy wanted a weekend with her since she had been out of town the last 2 weeks. We let her stay with Grandma and headed for a weekend alone. Just the two of us! The camping spot we normally take was occupied until Monday. We found another spot pretty much right next to it. We set up camp quickly and did a short hike into retrieve the first trail cam card. Had a little dinner, went for a drive and saw some wildlife. We stopped at one of my favorite overlooks.
It was so fun spending the weekend with just us. Its rare it happens.
That night we all of a sudden got a downpour of rain. Chris put up the awning to keep part of the area dry. I watched from the bed where it was warm and dry. He was trying to tie it down while I was trying to get a picture of the lightening flashing behind him.
The next morning we got up early.. we weren't able to sleep in past 7 and hiked into our other 2 cameras that were further in to pull SD cards and put new ones in. We came back to make breakfast. Nothings better than a guy in a cowboy hat cooking you breakfast!
Home sweet camp!
Saturday afternoon JaNeale, Jimmy, Ash, Derek, Ry, Briggs and Dereks friends showed up as we were hiking back to camp. They had been out driving from Monte and came over to Bear Lake. They visited for a while and left.
Sunday morning Todd and Jana showed up after breakfast to drop off their camper. We left ours up there since we have to pull the 4 wheeler trailer when we go back up. Mom and Dad are going up early this week to set up camp and stay. Cant wait for this next weekend!
