This year Chris turns 25th on the 3rd and Todd turns 50 on the 13th. They are both big birthdays for them. Jana and I talked about throwing them parties and realized why do two separate ones with pretty much the same exact people, so lets do a combined birthday bash!
We planned forever and put a lot of effort into it. We wanted to do it in the shop so there was enough room. We picked a duck hunting theme and decorated it all up.
We also had custom cakes made. I know it doesn't fit the duck hunting theme but we really wanted to do these fire helmet cakes for them. Didnt they turn out so awesome! Its the same lady who made my wedding cake.
We had a huge buffet filled with all their favorite foods. Smoked ribs, little smokies, meatballs, mashed potatoes, 7 layer dip, queso dip, cookies, candies and chips. Plus we filled a little swimming pool full of cans of pop and a metal tub full of different beers for everyone.
We got the boys the same present because you really cant get one something with out the other. Chris had been talking about how bad he wanted a 410 shotgun. He wanted a pump one which was a little harder to find than I expected and not a youth model. I told Todd what Chris was getting and he started telling me how it was his dads favorite type and all the child hood memories with it so Jana and I decided we would both go in on both and get them the same thing!
They didnt know at first they got the same gun. They played the 'show me yours and Ill show you mine' game
Finally they opened the cases.
From then on it was party all night. It was so great. People came for hours. There was sooo much food. It was full of family and friends.
Their special cakes and then two cakes for everyone else to eat.
It was a great night celebrating two great guys!!!
Happy Birthday boys! Love you!
