Top Shot Challenge

Friday I got a little wild hair and decided to create a Top Shot Challenge

Kennedy and I started making targets

She was a good helper

I made up the targets all on my own and had to improvise on somethings that I couldnt find the materials for but it actually worked out better that way!

Pistols only

We chose our .22's

Zack picked me up (Kennedy was w her dad)

We grabbed some Calls and headed up the mountain
It was perfect outside!

We had to go a little further from our normal shooting spot because there was a big group of people camping there!?

In my whole life I have never seen anyone camp there

The first challenge I had set up for us was a speed event

Pop all the balloons

First one done wins

We set them about 30 yards

Pistols on the tailgate

Two clips loaded

The wind was blowing and it was SO much harder than you would think!!

It took a lot more rounds than I imagined

Then we worked on the targets that were on the board

Zack kicked my trash on that!

I figured it would be so easy and it wasnt!

Next we had two pop cans set up for each of us with a balloon on each one

Then a can in the middle with out a balloon

You had to pop the balloon first

Then shoot the can on the target that was on it

First one to finish with their two cans got to shoot the can on the rock

Zack was right outside the bulls eye on one can

Next was throwing some clays for fun

I got a new shotgun yesterday so I had to play around with it!

Oh my gosh after shooting 100 rounds the day before my shoulder was a little sore!!

But I did a lot better than the day before

If you look close you can see the clay towards the top of the mountain line

Next challenge was close range rapid fire to get a close grouping

It just so happened that it was starting to get dark and we were able to get perfect pictures of the muzzle blast!

They were all just .22's remember

And last was accuracy round

Which ended up more into just playing and adjusting some sights

We probably shot 100 rounds a piece at the accuracy round!

We had the targets at about 12 yards on this one

Playing Top Shot was so much fun

It was nice to challenge yourself differently than normal

I think this is going to be a trend we continue!

Weekend of Guns

Yes I know the weekend is technically starting..

But I mean my work weekend

On Wednesday Zack Kennedy and I went shooting

She was so excited to get to shoot

HOWEVER she fell asleep on the way up there

Slept through the entire 2 hours or shooting

Slept the whole way back down the mountain and we had to wake her up when we got to Wingers

Peanut was exhausted

She woke up and said ok can we go shoot now after we eat

She was so sad to find out she'd slept through it all!

The weather was perfect

Its so beautiful up there I cant help but always take pictures!

Thursday night I went out with Chris to the trap club and shot trap

I had never ever shot trap before at an actual trap place with machines and houses

IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!

Chris shoots competitively and was killin them!

I on the other hand took a while to get into my groove

We ended up shooting 100 rounds a piece!

This is the guys lined up for a pawn shoot at the end

It was really interesting to see

Snow White

Kennedy has changed her name to Snow White

Each morning she puts on her dress

We go through a list of things Snow White does and doesnt do

I say

"do you want a banana for breakfast?"

she tells me

"No mom Snow White doesnt eat bananas"

 go in and go potty

"Mom Snow White doesnt go to the bathroom. There is no potty in the castle!"

Kennedy

"Mom my name is not Kennedy. I will only answer to Snow White"

Hey Kennedy

She ignores me smiling until I address her as Snow White

Dinner at Zacks

Monday night Zack cooked Kennedy and I dinner

Needed to try out his grill

We played on the swing set on his backyard while he cooked

Kennedy loves his swing set

I must say the steaks and brats were pretty awesome!

Hes single ladies...

Has a job

Owns a house

Likes kids

Can cook

haha just let me know!

Of course Kennedy couldn't swing with out Zacky Poo

That's what she calls him

and he hates it

This is Kennedy's fox

He has been going everywhere with us lately

You can see in most of the pictures hes there while we swing

He went to Walmart with us

She dresses him up

It was a fun night

Kennedy and I spider swung and we were laughing so hard

We took turns making animal noises

Quizzed her on counting in Spanish and some Spanish words she knows

and giggled and giggled

Plans who needs them

Lately Im pretty sure all Ive done is just run in circles!

So much to get done in every day and now Im working day shift after 6 years of graves

Plus we kind of a fly by the seat of our pants family!!

Seriously its almost funny

When I got home from getting my tattoo Liz was packing up some bags and decided on an impromptu trip.. that day..

So she called me an hour or so later and needed me to help her dye her hair

We were crackin up

I dont dye hair

Ive never dyed mine

But we had fun haha

I had to help her rinse it out

Somethings are only funny to sisters Ive decided

I was washing her hair out for her and she randomly says

"Your boobs look really good from this angle"

Then I accidentally sprayed her in the ear from laughing so hard which only made me laugh harder

Or when I was driving her to the airport that night (for the impromptu trip)we were rockin out to music and she was fist bumping so hard w her ipod in her hand it made it shuffle

I mean really what would I do with out that entertainment!?

Saturday we celebrated my Great Grandma Bartons 96th Birthday down at her home at Legacy House in Bountiful

I had to leave work and scramble to get down there in time

Then had to head to the store and home to make chili for the potluck at work

After making a few stops with one very tired whinny kid I realized Zack still had my crock pot..

So I tried to call him and he didn't answer

I stopped by his house and he wasn't there but I saw his truck at the fire station just down the road so I stopped in

WELL as I was tracking him down to get his keys they were setting up fireworks

It was Founders Day for Willard

Got his keys

Ran to his house

Got my crock pot

and then the fire works started

So I figured whats 20 more minutes

Its only 9:00 pm

I only still have to cook chili and put Kennedy in bed before 6am

Kennedy and I had to take him back the keys anyways so we watched the fireworks

It was good timing

I love this one

That is a firework not the moon

You can see where it started on the ground, the smoke and right as it starts to pop

Kennedy loved it

This picture here made it all worth it

Phoenix Tattoo

I went and got my 3rd tattoo

I had several people recommend Lost Art on 25th st in Ogden

THEY WERE FABULOUS!

SO clean. So nice

Big Dave did my ink and he was a blast

I had a few friends stop in through out the process and one took this pict for me

The outline done

And some color

I didnt want a lot but some accents

And here it is a few days after its been healing

I absolutely LOVE it

I am so so happy with how it turned out

The reason I chose the Phoenix is I love the story behind it

I feel like in life lately so much I have decided what I want

Ive picked a path and started working on it

Everything goes up in flames and I find myself starting again from the beginning over and over

The Phoenix goes for so long and then lights on fire to start a new

It rebuilds from the ashes and comes back stronger than before

I chose to have it flying as its changing because I feel like its fighting the change

It knows whats going to happen but it keeps holding out thinking it can make it work

But in reality you cant stop it

I fight the change

I have my mind made up on what I want or am going to do and I try my damndest to stick to it

But you cant stop the fire

All you can do is rise from the ashes and take the scars you have

and start over stronger

We finally found some time to paint Kennedys piggy bank she got for Easter

She thought it was so neat and had a blast

Haileys Bday and First Jazz game

April 9th was Haileys Bday!

She got a cake at work and this shirt..

If you know Hailey you know this is her FAVORITE thing to say

That night at work one of my co-workers husband ended up with 6 extra tickets to the Jazz game that night and asked if I could fill them

Heck yes I can!

SO I rounded up a few people on the last minute and another awesome co-worker made it possible for me to leave a few min early and get ready

Seriously I work with the BEST people ever!!!

We all headed down for Kennedy and I's first Jazz game ever

We moved up to the very top row so we could all sit together

Funny thing the Jazz played the Spurs

The ONLY other NBA basketball game I have ever been to was a Spurs game!

Our friends MarDee Brandon and their son Caid came with us

And Zack too

It was a fun night

Kennedy enjoyed it
