Agnes Ryan Barton passed away December 26, 2013. Mother was born April 14, 1916 in Heber City, Utah. Her parents, George F. Ryan and Jenette Jones Ryan had ten children. Parents and siblings all preceded her in death. The Ryan family owned farms in Center Creek where they lived and farmed. The family later moved to Salt Lake City where mother graduated from East High School. She married Edgar B. Barton September 30, 1935 in Washington DC. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mother and Dad later moved to Salt Lake City and then to Bountiful, Utah, where they lived the rest of their lives. Being active in Church, mother enjoyed serving in several organizations including Relief Society President. While working as a volunteer at Lakeview Hospital for many years, mother made friendships and enjoyed helping others. During her lifetime, mother’s main priority was her family. We all enjoyed her wonderful home cooked meals, which meant making most things from her own recipes. Mother lived her last 5 ½ years at Legacy House of Bountiful. Her family is grateful for the loving care she received there. Agnes is survived by sons: Jim (Yvonne), Richard (Pam), Ralph (Sharlene), Joel (Connie) and daughter, Tamara Knight (Neil); 22 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and her son, Stephen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, where a viewing will be held from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment-Kaysville City Cemetery.
