The days before Christmas

The week of Christmas we were hit hard with several snowstorms..which meant Chris worked a lot. He was in at 3am almost every morning to go plow. He was supposed to have Weds off and ended up plowing Wed for 10 hours and got called into work (he was on call) twice Wed night and had to go plow more Thursday morning. The biggest thing was the snowstorm would just DUMP snow when it came in.
Kennedy was cleaning her room and kept sending me messages downstairs tied to a balloon
One of the many times he was called in we sat and had hot cocoa and watched Christmas movies
Kennedy went to the Okis house to play and they made gingerbread houses. Hers is the manger where Jesus was born. If you look close the stuck together candy on the pile of licorice is him in the manger. The red candys out front is Mary watching him.

JaNeales 50th birthday party

Jimmy spent a lot of time planning a surprise birthday party for JaNeale for her 50th birthday. Its not til the 29th but we celebrated on Saturday. We headed down early to do a little shopping at Scheels. Kennedy wanted to play the shooting game so bad so I slipped in a few bucks and let her go to town.
Saturday night the weekend before Christmas in Salt Lake was crazy. We headed to Staceys house (JaNeale and Jimmys neighbor) where the party was being held. We all piled in the kitchen and waited to surprise her
They had a taco bar and all kinds of treats

JaNeale and her grandkids
 and her kids
Chris, Ashley, Zola (her mom) and Hunter
 and then all of us
Chris, Me, Derek, Ash, JaNeale, Jimmy, Zola, Hunter and Rikki (Jimmys daughter)
 I sure love this guy!
I stole these party pictures from Jimmy

Happy Birthday! Good job Jimmy :)

Naps, Poland, Rue and Sledding

We have spent a lot of time like this lately
Chris has been going in at 3am having to plow and getting to come home from work a little early and take a nap before going to class.
Kennedy brought me breakfast in bed one morning.
 Havin a little mom time
Weve had a warm December again. We started building part of our fence in the backyard.. at least enough of the fence to start to keep the dogs in. There was one weak spot where they could still get out but at least this way we can let them run the backyard now a little less supervised.

Tuesday night for fire drill we were filling up 2 of the fire trucks when this lady came up to us. She was from Poland and said her dad was on a fire brigade in a small village in Poland and they were all about the 'big american fire trucks.' He wanted to know why there were no fires in America for her to take pictures of. She was wearing his fire dept jacket. We turned on the lights for her and let her climb on the engine and inside for some pictures for him. They took about 30 pictures ha.

Its been cold lately so weve had Rue inside a few nights. Her and Kennedy are so cute. If Kennedys not home at night Rue paces the house looking for her and doesnt sleep. They sure love each other! We sat and watched Christmas movies and these two were cracking me up.

 She sure loves her Kennedy!
Chris had to replace the fuel filter on his snowmobile the other day so we had to take it out in the field and make sure it was running good. I rode with him for a few minutes when Kennedy came outside and asked if she could go for a ride.
I love these two. They have such a great bond.

Last Archery Class of 2015

Wednesday Kennedy had her last archery class of 2015. We went early and helped Grandma set up all the balloons. We blew up 5 garbage bags full!
Kennedy fell asleep in the car on the way up there. She was not too happy when she woke up. She was struggling at first because you had to pop a balloon to start shooting the animals. She hit several balloons but didnt pop them because she hit right on the side of them. Finally once she started focusing and relaxed some she started hitting the targets like crazy.
She loved shooting the animals and set her sights high shooting the smallest one first. I tried to have her shoot the big deer but no she had to go for the tiny mosquito
and she did great! All 3 arrows hit it!

She cant wait to move to the intermediate class next go round!

Ugly Sweater Party

MarDee and Brandon were having an Ugly Sweater party this weekend.
I was so excited to have a reason to buy these cute shirts I saw online!

We did a group picture of all those that were cool enough to dress up
and one of those who were lame and didnt dress up!
Ken started taking about 1200 pictures of our group and MarDee went on the attack. He got a picture of the whole thing.
We are old people. I had to be up by 430 the next morning to work a 12 hour shift and Chris had to be up by 5 to go elk hunting with his dad. We stayed for a little bit but were home in bed by 10pm.
Thanks for the invite MarDee we had fun!

Tree and AEMT

We decorated our tree finally. The lights are shotgun shell and duck lights. All of the ornaments on the tree are hunting ornaments. The tree skirt my Grandma Barton made me this year. I was so excited! Ive wanted a homemade tree skirt forever.
Kennedy helped me decorate it and then drew an ornament she wanted to make to go on the tree also
My dads been working on perfecting his Grandmas cookie recipe. He finally achieved it and brought me in some cookies for breakfast at work.
This picture makes me melt every time I look at it. He is such a wonderful amazing dad to Kennedy. They were going over her report card :)
