Fall is in the air

Tell me this isnt the cutest thing ever!
Chris and his niece taking a nap together
Saturday after work I hurried and threw some chili in the crock pot for dinner and we went to shoot
Chris and Hunter needed to sight in their guns for the upcoming elk hunt
We went to his uncles property up Sardine Canyon
The hills were ALIVE in orange and yellows
It was so pretty!!!
I just kept taking pictures of everything
I was kind of in a picture taking mood

Oh yeah and there was some shooting going on
Theres a little inside shed with a table and chairs set up to shoot from and targets at different yardages right in front of it
I was outside and so was Chris
I had earplugs in and was in my own little world
Todd and Hunter were inside and he was shooting his 7mm
All of a sudden Todd comes out wiping stuff out of his eyes and cleaning off his glasses
We cant see inside of the place they are shooting out of since we are right on the side of it
I thought maybe Todd got something in his eye.. like some grains or something from when Hunter shot
Todd goes back in the shed
I still have my ear plugs in waiting for the next shot
Next thing I know Hunter comes out and his hands are covered in blood and him and Todd head to the truck
I dont know which one of them is bleeding or what happened
Turns out Hunter got scope eye.. or in his case scope forehead!
He didnt hold his gun tight enough on his 3rd shot and the scope hit him in the head..
In the SAME EXACT spot he has a scar from doing the SAME EXACT thing last year
He was just fine
I cleaned all the blood off of him and cleaned up his forehead
and maybe gave him a little bit of a hard time

Then went back to taking pictures

So we went home..
Todd fixed up Hunter good
Had chili and cornbread for dinner at our house
Then got things ready for everyone to take the trailer of 4 wheelers up to the cabin for the deer hunt
Part of that was Chris and I needed to fill up gas cans so we headed to Smiths

This is where it gets complicated

Chris had a $20 gift card, a $10 fuel check from Smiths they send out, and then his debit card for the rest
Before he even started pumping he went up to the little enclosed box they keep the cashier in and asked him how he wanted him to do it
He told him just enter your rewards card, fuel up and then come back over and I'll ring them up
So we filled up the 4 5 gallon cans
Total is $74.02
He goes over to pay and the cashier swipes the $20 card
Then hits check for full amount.. $54.02
The fuel center was packed
4 people were in line behind Chris
The cashier tries and tries to void it
Tries to start it over
Cant fix the transaction
So Chris asks him to just ring up all the people behind him while he figures it out
Well he cant do that because he just froze the machine trying to fix it
He calls for a manager to come out to help and asks Chris to move his truck away from the pump because they are down one
A manager finally comes out and they go through the rounds again..
He cant find the receipt the cashier threw in the garbage for the fuel..
Cant get the machine to fix it
Cant void it
Cant verify the amount of fuel because 6 other people have used the pump now
Chris is keeping totally calm
Explains what happens again.. which cards are needed.. how much the fuel was
I am done by this point. I was waiting in the truck and reclined the seat back and went to sleep
We are 45 minutes into this adventure of JUST TRYING TO PAY FOR FUEL
The guy cashier is crying
The manager cant fix it
Chris is standing outside the cashiers box
Another manager that we know from the archery club who wasn't working but was passing by with her family stopped
Walked in and with in 5 minutes had it all fixed and good to go
WE WAITED AN HOUR to just be able to PAY!!!!
AN HOUR
This is where Chris amazed me
He didnt get pissed
Didnt scream and yell
Was polite
Didnt lose his temper or storm off out of there
He felt bad for the cashier who was totally flustered
Was laughing when he came back to the truck
I cant say I would have been the same way
Thats why I waited in the truck :)

School School and more School

We have been so full of school around here!
I swear thats all our days are sometimes
Kinlie was so cute headed into school all by herself
It was the first time she didnt want to be walked to class
Kennedy was so excited to wear her new dress and new shoes to school
She had them on before I even woke up that morning!
Parker and Kennedy went on their first field trip this Wednesday
They were so excited!
And maybe I was a little excited to get to tag along too
First they started at Paul's Patch fruit stand
They learned about all the different fruits and vegetables there
Which ones had seeds
The colors
You cant hardly see their little heads over the squash

Then we walked over to the Canyon View Animal Hospital
The kids got a pretty good tour of the vets office
Kennedy and Parker were so excited to get to wear "vet doctor hats"
They got to see all the kennels and places they keep animals
X rays of a momma dog and the puppies inside
A heart full of heart worm
Hips and broken legs
They got to see where the animals stayed if you went on vacation
The lady giving the tour had her dog there and let the kids play with it
Parker was so cute
He kept looking over at me the whole field trip and waving and smiling
Or he would come over and hang onto my leg saying Hi Auntie Jessie
He even came over and cuddled up next to me at the vets office on the couch
When I took him home he said
"My dad said you dont have to bring me home. You can keep me all day long!"
At the fruit stand they each got a free little pumpkin'
We stopped on the way home and got Kennedy some paints to paint it with and let her go wild

As we were eating dinner Kennedy hopped up on my lap and said I just need some mommy time
So we sat and cuddled and loved for a minute
Then she wanted to take pictures

Meatballs

I made a bunch of stuff this weekend as usual
Thought I'd throw in a little recipe for one of my favorites
I took some homemade bread and turned it into bread crumbs by crumbling it up and letting it dry over night spread out on a baking sheet
Next I added a TINY bit of bacon bits, garlic powder, mustard powder, black pepper, onion powder and mixed it up
Then I added a half a can of beer to make it soft
Mmm it smelled so good once the beer was added to the bread crumbs and spices
Just enough to make it semi moist but not mushy
Then two packages of hamburger
It was about 3lbs worth
Just mix it all up
Roll into balls and place on cookie sheet in the fridge or freezer to set
After that I just set out however many I need for dinner and take the rest and put in bags to freeze
I take what Im using and place into a cooking dish, covered in bbq sauce and bake in the oven at 300 until they are done
Oh did I mention I made the bbq sauce also..

Inspiration

Monday Chris had half the day off work
We decided to go up to Inspiration Point and take the shotguns in case we saw any grouse
This peanut was SO good today
SO sweet so loving so funny
One of those days where they just fill your heart
She was cracking me up
Singing all kinds of songs on the back of the wheeler and giggling almost non stop
The leaves are starting to change and it was gorgeous!
Chis had been all over up there but never actually to Inspiration Point
So we took a little venture up
Then we hiked out on the trail to the south that Ive always wanted to go out on

The view was so pretty
Even though there was a TON of smoke in the air from fires in Idaho
You couldn't hardly see very far at all

We were sitting on the top of the mountain looking around and two male mountain goats came out about 500 yards from us
I was able to get a picture of them through the binoculars with my phone
We headed back towards the wheeler after a while and found 3 more goats

Utah State Fair

JaNeale came up Saturday for a wedding reception and wanted to take Kennedy home with her
Kennedy played lots of Crowns and Gowns with Grandpa Jimmy
Grandma bough her two new dresses
and she got to play Jimmy's drum set

We all headed down to JaNeale and Jimmys house Sunday after I got off work to go to the State Fair and demolition derby
Chris got this awesome hat..
sad to say I actually do really love it
Its huge!
I saw a kid walking around with one on and HAD to find one too
All the mexicans loved it ha!
They kept complimenting him on it

The derby was a lot of fun
We all had a blast

We laughed and yelled til we couldn't hardly talk anymore
Cars kept catching on fire
It was fabulous
and then they had lawnmowers out there!!
One kept getting tipped over
