Day of Surprises

Today was a beautiful sun shiny day. I had a big surprise planned for Kennedy (see lower post)
The sun was out.
I was on my way to go get Kennedy. I was so excited! I got into my car, turned the key and nothing. I had power.. but my car wouldn't even try and turn over. Sometimes this happens when my alarm isn't disarmed properly. It has some anti theft thing that the clicker has to be clicked in a sequence.. So I tried to reset it.. again...and again.. and again... and again..nothing. So I had to call Joe to come down and help me unhook the battery.. and drop off Kennedy since I couldn't pick her up! I had no tools to undo anything. So he checked all the fuses. Wires.Connections. Everything. Unhooked the battery and let it sit and hooked it back up. Nothing still. Called the Chev dealer to see if they knew.. They couldn't tell us unless we towed it to them. He put it into neutral and we pushed the car for just a few feet and put it back into park just to make sure it was fully into park. Nothing. I'm starting to sweat it by this point. I can see the $$$$$$ popping up like mad to fix this. He sits in the car and tries to start it again. Nothing. He tries one last time and pushes the gearshift (which is in park fully) forward while he turns the key and it starts right up! Dang thing just somehow wasn't knowing it was all the way into Park! After 35 minutes of trying to get it to start it was something as dumb as it not being 10000% into park.. even though it really was.

Kennedys New Bedding

When all this new living arrangement started 3 weeks ago (and we were still at my moms) Kennedy was having a really hard time sleeping at night. She'd cry and whimper all night long that she wanted to go home, she wanted to go to daddy's, she missed her pony, she missed her bed, she missed me (we were sharing a bed and I was laying with her). She would cuddle up with me and cry because I wasn't close enough to her. She would be crying in her sleep too. When she was at Joe's house (our old house) she would sleep just fine. No problem.

When we moved into our new place I made it a point to get her a bed and bedding set. I figured maybe it would help her feel like it was HERS and help her sleep better. I ordered her a Tangled (shes a little obsessed) bedding set. It came in today and I hadn't told her I'd bought it for her. I opened and unwrapped it all and put it back in the box so it was easier for her to open.
Its hard to tell but she was SO excited about it!
This is her new bedding and bed!
She had to fix the pillow because Rapunzel had to be showing.
Pooker loves her new bed and sheets!

Baby Mini

Today I had a surprise for Kennedy..I didn't tell her what it was.
We stopped and picked up my friend Hailey and headed out to her Aunts house. She has a bunch of Miniature Horses. No not pony's. They are smaller than a pony. One of her minis had just had a little foal 2 weeks ago! We got to go play with this tiny little fuzzball!!
Kennedy thought it was so cute because the mini was so tiny! She kept saying "its just my size!"
Her Aunt let them out into the field and let the little guy run around. He was kicking up his heels and playing speed horse. I love spring!
This group of pictures just makes me laugh. I think it perfectly captures the curiosity of newborns!
Kennedy loved Hailey's moms dog Sophie too
This little guy is named Dude
Hailey's mom and Dude
The rest of her minis
She hooks them up to the buckboard and shows them off in parades! The little buckboard and harnesses were so cute!
Meet Spike. SHE is a big old dog!
Sisters shovelin poop! haha Hailey's mom needed some fertilizer so she bagged up some poop before we left.
Thank you Hailey for taking us out there.. and taking all these pictures for us!!! (It was a little windy if you cant tell!)

New Place

Kennedy and I moved into our new apartment this Sunday. Our family friend has a mother in law apartment on her house that they've always rented out. My sister Liz was actually living there but she is starting school in April and asked me if I wanted to switch so she could move back in with mom and dad. Um YES! So we moved her out and moved us in! Our new view from the front door. It was snowing. And then rain. Then clear skies. Then hail. Yuck
Joe keeps Kennedy right now during my work week since I'm on nights and hes on leave. She was with me on my days off and got to spend her first nights in our new place. She calls it the Horse House. The apt is totally furnished and decorated. Its full of western decor.

Little monkey kept wanting me to take our picture together but she was trying to dance during the pict so I had to hold her down
And she wanted her picture taken while she was eating too.. So I tried to take her pict and she ended up putting her elbow into her ketchup.
But Kennedy did get to ride Clifford at Walmart so her weekend was complete.

Para cord Craze

It all started with my dad wanting to make a wrist bow sling for my mom.. He spent some time on YouTube and learned how to make Para cord Bracelets. I hadn't even heard of them until my friend Hailey made them the other day. They are called survival bracelets because if you ever get stranded or stuck or whatever you unravel them and have a bunch of para cord to use.

My dad made Kennedy a cute little one.

I had told Hailey the other day I wanted one. Either pink and brown or brown and pink. Well I woke up and my dad had made me a pink and brown one!
He made me another one too. Pink camo and grey!

Princesses, Archers and Pink Eye

Snow White and Belle
Kinlie has these cute princess dresses she brought today for them to dress up in. Kennedy was so in character. She kept calling herself Snow White and Kinlie was Belle. Parker couldn't be left out either.  He was the Handsome Prince

To put it lightly my parents are archery FANATICS. They LOVE archery. They shoot several times a week. My dad is VP for the Brigham Bowman Association. They are always off at shoots. My mom teaches Archery as a pt class for Weber State.  I am the black sheep of the family. My sisters both shoot. Their husbands and significant others of the week shoot. I don't really like archery.

When I was younger I used to shoot a bow outside into a hay bale all day long back before it was cool. But its just never really been my thing. Some of the shoots look fun and my dad swears one of these days he's going to have me shooting.. But since I've passed this long its time to start on the next generation.
Kennedy and Kinlie had a blast shooting!

Kennedy got pink eye for the first time this week. Parker came over to my parents yesterday and about half way through the day of them playing we noticed his eyes were all goopy and red. So we tried to keep them separated. But the damage was done. Kennedy woke up this morning all goopy eyed and saying they hurt. Her Dr office is fabulous and just called me in a prescription for eye drops. 2 drops per eye 4 times a day! She's done good so far about them but its day one!!

Sportsmans Expo

Today Mom Kennedy and I headed to the Sportsman's Expo at the South Towne Expo Center. I love going to the Sportsman's Expo! They usually have some of the neatest stuff there!
Grandma and Kennedy outside the entrance
Momma and Kennedy
They had dutch oven cooking competitions
And all kinds of neat four wheelers and dirt bikes, Ford and Dodge trucks, campers, all kinds of hunting clothing and equipment, cooking equipment, kids fishing, fly fishing demonstrations, speakers and so much more!
Kennedy hanging out in the big Ford chair. She was getting tired from all the walking.
They had all kinds of kids activities too. This was put on by the Youth Waterfowl Association. They let you toss decoys into the bucket. Kennedy wanted to do it SO bad. I wasn't sure if they were going to let her because she was so little. She walked right up to the guy and said "I want to throw one!" He let her walk right up close and toss it.
You win a cinnamon teal decoy and she was SO proud of her duck. She carried that thing everywhere.

Best attempt we had at a pict with her and her antlers and duck looking at the camera haha
Headed home
