Checkin cameras and getting woood

Saturday we went in again to check our trail cams. Kennedy, Taylor, Hunter and Chris came along with us this time. We had a truck full!
Kennedy had to walk with Uncle Hunter to start with

Then she jumped ship and went with Uncle Taylor
Mom was chopped liver with Taylor, Hunter and Grandpa around!
Kennedys water bladder was only half full of water and it was too much weight for her (she said) so she conned Daddy into carrying it for her. He looks cute in his little pink backpack
The area we are scouting in only has 35 limited entry archery elk tags however there are still archery deer tags out too. We wanted the cams to not only try and see some elk but to see the times they were coming through and to see how much traffic there was (people and animal) When we got to the first cam someone had set up one not even 10 feet from ours. Granted I dont think they saw ours it was well placed. There were 366 pictures and I was SSOO stoked to see what was on there. Well I got 366 pictures of blue jays and other birds playing on a log near the camera. So we pulled that cam and put it in a better location hoping for less birds and more animals.
We hiked out to the next one. We were just going to take in a little camera and make sure there were picts and swap SD cards and look at what we had when we got home. Chris wanted to take in his computer instead to really see the pictures so we packed it in.
 Peanut and I
She was so excited to find some snow! Her and Daddy had a snowball fight
From there we went over to the cabin. When we pulled in there were a bunch of cows on the property. Kennedy and Hunter chased them off.
Going across the rough road to the cabin from where we were was tough on the trailer. It tore loose some pieces of the wood and ripped apart the light wiring. We stopped to eat some lunch and hook back up the trailer lights
I brought fruit trail mix I'd made, granola, summer sausage and cheese, chicken salad, bread and crackers. Plus we had a cooler full of drinks.
After lunch we started pulling out wood. Chris and Todd cut it up and Taylor, Hunter and I hauled and loaded it. We were bringing out all the dead fall. There is SO much.

Taylor wanted to learn how to fell trees. With the Richards boys this is SERIOUS business. They are both Sawyers (firefighting cert) and take their chainsawing pretty serious.Taylor had cut trees that had already fallen but to cut one down is different.
Kennedy made a doll and some other toy out of weeds she found.

They started on a small tree as a beginner. Todd taught him about making his pie cut and other things to keep in mind and to do.

 It was quite a process

and there goes his first tree!!

One deadfall Chris cut open was FULL of ants. They came spewing out and just kept coming. It was so gross!

Todd let Taylor cut down a few smaller trees and then moved him onto a bigger one

We got a pretty good trailer load for the first one and headed for home

Week 26- wheelin around town,Grandmas first selfie, softball and Miss Koree

I love when Im at work and get pictures like this on Sunday! Ry and Kennedy were over playing at Grandma and Grandpas.  They played in the pool FOREVER and loved it.

We had our usual Sunday dinner that night. Chris sat at the kids table. He couldnt pass up sitting with these two cuties
Summer foods are the best! Sloppy Joes and fresh fruit
My two loves racing me home from dinner.
I got some new hunting arrows and worked on getting them cut and inserts put in. I cant wait to get a minute to shoot them.
The way we get around in Willard is by 4 wheeler or dirt bike. Almost always. Its not just us its the whole town. Usually my mom or Todd and Jana will come over on the wheeler. Almost every time Taylor comes over its on his wheeler or dirt bike. Nightly there are people constantly driving past our house on one of the above. I LOVE IT. Taylor came over and Chris had to go take his bike for a ride....
We couldnt leave out Taylor so he took Kennedys bike

They went down to Zacks house to visit. Todd and Jana called and wanted me to come over for a minute so Kennedy and I took the wheeler and headed over. Next thing I know Chris, Taylor and Zack join in. Todd couldnt stop laughing when we all pulled in.

Grandpa Roy has been in the hospital all week. The first night we all went up to check on him and say hi. We were giving Grandma a hard time making sure she was eating and not just staying at the hospital worrying about him all day. She hadn't eaten all day and wouldn't let us buy her dinner or tell us what she wanted. So we made her promise she would eat something when she went home for the night. She promised and we teased her a little bit more saying not just a graham cracker. Real food. She said "Fine! I'll send you a selfie to prove it to you..but wait I dont know how to take a selfie??" So I showed her how to take one on her Iphone and how to send a picture text. She told me "Great now this will probably end up on Google!"
Well we left the hospital and went to our softball game. Midgame I got a text and it was fabulous!
She sent me this!! She is too much! I love her.
(Yes she threw a hat on sideways too. Grandmas goin gangsta!)
Our softball game that night went pretty well. Liz, Kyle and Koree came to cheer us on. She took a bunch of pictures for us.
Chubby little Koree and I. She loves me and Im not just saying that. She cried when I handed her back to her mom. I had to hold her in the dugout with me. Rough right :)

 Koree cheering us on
One day I will hit it out of the park.. one day
Miss Koree came over to swing
I was able to go to K's swim lessons again on Thursday. We actually are moving water and herself and not just going sideways :) Shes getting it! She swam clear to the side but I only got half of it
I made the most amazing dinner the other night.. I have to share! Its a recipe from Pinterest but I tweaked it.
I put a few chicken breasts in the cock pot. Added two cans of red enchilada sauce and two tablespoons of taco seasoning. Let it cook til the chicken was done and shredded it. Added diced green onions, 1 cup shredded cheese and let it cook for another 20 min or so. Then I poured it over rice. I cant even describe how yummy it was!
Remember how last week my feet hurt so dang bad from hiking... well I decided to go buy some gel inserts. My feet seriously have never ever hurt like that before and I thought I was just getting wussy and old. Well ... I went to put in the inserts and pulled out the old insert the shoes came with... and this is what I found under that thin tiny pad of an insert. THIS is what I was walking on for hours. All the padding had deteriorated and there was this metal bar in the middle that wasnt screwed down any more so it floated around in the bottom. NO WONDER!
I had to break down and go buy some new hiking boots
 We have peas growing!
Kennedy is not allowed to have food or drinks in her room. At all.
Chris and I were standing outside when he looked up towards her room and started laughing. She has a coke and iced tea hiding behind her curtains.
Koree got to come hang out for a few hours the other night while her parents went out. I love seeing Chris snuggle with babies! It makes my heart flutter
