Week 31- Macees birthday, Kendels Party, Alexs shooting and mountain lion

Sunday we went up to East Canyon for dinner with Dad & Mom and Todd & Jana. The kids wanted to play in the puppy pen with Chico
We just hung out and relaxed. Kennedy insisted I wear her sunglasses and she takes my picture

Tuesday night as Macee Moo's 1st birthday!
She was more excited about my Diet Coke than everyone there to see her
Elysha cooked us up burgers and we had salads. Then it was cake and ice cream time. She of course got her own smash cake

 Grandma Julie helped her out

 and there goes the cake...

We also had a small rainbow
Thursday Kennedy went to a birthday party at Kendells house. She hasnt seen him in a while and was so excited! I hadnt seen MarDee in forever either so I was almost as excited as K was. MarDee had a Jess Diet Coke cold and waiting for me :)
As soon as I got there I had to watch her go down the slide and show me all the tricks she did that day

That right there is my child....Sad to say she really just is a mini version of her mom

We have spent a lot of time outside this past few weeks. HE .. he as in my HUSBAND... wanted to take a selfie. Im not gonna pass that one up no matter how sweaty and nasty we are from working outside.
Alex, Saritas son has been begging her to shoot a bow so we told her to bring him up. Chris is great at teaching little kids how to shoot.
Soon he had it down and was doing it on his own
 Good job Alex!
We took another hike in this weekend to scout and check our cameras

We have been in there almost every weekend since the beginning of June working on trails, scouting, checking out different places. We had our trail just about decided on where was the best way in and out of an area and had flagged it really lightly. Some jerk went in there and pulled out all our markers and threw them on the ground or placed them in other spots. We found another trail cam by ours. Ours had been there since the beginning of June and someone came and sat one in the mud next to it. Hopefully this isnt a precursor to the weeks to come hunting. This was the most exciting thing we found.
After we did what we need to and hiked back out we went for a little drive and went fire wood hunting to scout out some areas where our permits were for.
 We harvested our potatoes
The russets grew alright but the yukon golds grew really well. Weve already decided next year we need to double the size of our garden. This was just an experimental one this go round since we'd never done one before.
My nights have been consumed by this.
Shooting
We have put so much work scouting, hiking, shooting, gathering gear etc and we are down to 13 days until it opens. Lets hope all of our hard work pays off!!!!
