Week 33- Deer/ Elk camp set up and hunting

This week was pretty much spent finishing up getting everything ready for the hunt and hunting. There really arent too many pictures! Earlier this week we took our campers up to our spot.

We saw a few deer on the way out
My tomatoes have FINALLY started turning woo hoo!

Chris visiting with Doug over the fence
We got a horrible down pour Tuesday night while we were at drill. We had just finished rolling up some hose when it hit.

My favorite pair of jeans are just a little too holey to wear anymore.. so I cut up pieces off an old too big camo tshirt I had and sewed them under neath.
Friday afternoon we FINALLY headed up to deer/elk camp. I had been waiting all week long and Friday afternoon seemed like it was never getting here. Heres our camp set up
and our kitchen area
We ate dinner. Hung around the camp fire. My dads half brother Terry and his son Daniel Corey camp a ways from where we do. They rode their 4 wheelers over to visit and have some dinner. We called it a night and got up at 330 the next morning to head out to our spot. Todd and I made it to our place by 430. We sat there til 1130. Not a dang thing. No elk. No deer. They had been in there the week before and just disappeared. We hiked out. Had some lunch and went back in for the evening. We sat there for almost 6 hours that night. Nothing came in again.
That next morning we headed in at 5. Sat there for a few hours again watching the sun come up
Still nothing. We went for a hike and thats when we found Todds deer. After we finally got his deer out we headed back to camp for breakfast. We were EXHAUSTED. They pretty much had camp cleaned up for what needed to go home and what needed to stay. Mom is staying up there during this week hunting and keeping an eye on things.
Kennedy and her daughter. Her daughter went everywhere with us.
Radar had dug so many holes he was completely worn out. Every time you turned around he was buried in another hole.
We were able to leave camp by 2 still and made decent time home. We hurried and showered, sorted out our laundry and then headed over to Todd and Janas to help them clean the meat up and get it frozen. He had to have a pict with his Granddaughters and his deer.
The boys worked on cleaning up the meat and washing it
The kids played between the pool and the hot tub

The girls were having fun splashing Ash
We were so exhausted by the time the night was over! We were in bed by 730!
