Pugsley and Rosebud fire

The 3rd of July I had a meeting in West Valley for a few hours. As soon as I got home we were paged to a grass fire in Park Valley.
This is what happens when your hubby runs the hose..

We were out there a while working on the fire when another one came in. We headed to that one and were cancelled not far out. We had time to go home and change and were just headed to the dinner when another fire came in out west. Todd and I went. Chris stayed home to run calls in the area. We had some reports that this was a big one before we even got there. You can see how far out we are and how big the cloud is already.

It was cooking when we got there and going FAST. We had very limited resources on scene to start with. We had more coming but they were a while out. It took us over an hour to get there. The area is called Devils Playground and its between Park Valley and Grouse Creek

It was a HOT fire. A lot of heat.
We had 4 S.E.A.T.S (thats the most I have EVER seen on a fire at once on an initial attack before) and a helicopter. We had forest service crews and a bulldozer on the way.

You can see all 4 planes in this picture.

The tried to make a line around the west side but it crossed over it and kept going.

We worked our guts out trying to get some sort of a stop on it. We have had such crazy fire behavior this year.
Yes we are actually working still ha. I took these while the tender was filing up our truck with water.

I had my gopro on so I was able to get some cool working shots and videos

We were pretty much surrounded by fire (yes we had our safety zones and black to get into) but all around us was fire

Bringing in the other crews to restrategize and go try another part of the fire

We got her knocked down some. We made it home just after 4am.
While we were on that fire Chris was called to another one in Snowville called the Cedar Hills fire. We had to stop by his fire on our way home to take them somethings.
