One Nation Under GOD

I have a lot of blogging to do..
But I am only going to make on post tonight
Today I attended the funeral for Agent/Officer Jared Francom
It was truly an incredible experience
I wasnt able to attend the graveside services because I had to go back to work
I stopped to meet with my dad on 25th st where they had a tribute set up for the procession to go through
I randomly snapped several pictures with my camera phone
I didnt even look twice at this picture until my dad mentioned it to me after I posted it on facebook
Funny how there are always reminders of God in our lives..
What a fitting picture I thought
This is completely undedited
Do you see the cross in the flag

Candelight Vigil

Less than 24 hrs after the incident we had a CISD
Critical Incident Stress Debriefing
There were a lot of people in attendance
Its for individuals that are involved in a high stress incident to come together with Peers from the Fire/EMS/Dispatch/Law enforcement agencies to help us deal with what we've experienced
To be able to talk about it
Share our feelings, angers, emotions, fears etc
To discuss what took place and to support those that are dealing with the incident emotionally
CISD's are so very hard
This was the hardest one by far that I've ever been to
Full of emotion
But its good to talk about it
Its good to hear all sides
Get the perspectives and get some closure also
They are also so beneficial and necessary

The CISD was good for as good as they can be
Its nice to support and feel supported
To know you're all in the same situation and are all there for each other
It lasted just over 2 hours

After that there was a candlelight vigil for Fallen Officer Francom and the other 5 injured officers at the Ogden Amphitheater
If you've not been through a debriefing they are very emotionally taxing
They wear you out
Its a lot to take in and try and process so quickly after such a bad incident
Then to go to the candelight vigil afterwards was hard

All agencies that showed up came in uniform
What a neat experience
The amphitheater was full of officers in uniform
Some in their Class A's
They handed out candles to all those that showed up
We had a moment of silence

They played a slide show honoring all 6 victims
Then they asked all law enforcement who was there to come up on stage and honored them
Ogden City Fire was also there showing their support

The vigil was a very emotional and humbling experience
Something that was significant in bringing the communities together

A dispatchers worst nightmare

There are only a few things I am going to talk about in this post
There are some things that are confidential and I cant
On Wednesday night January 4th a dispatchers worst nightmare came true
We had 6 officers shot in one incident
It was complete controlled chaos
I say controlled because everyone involved did such a great job
Dispatchers, medical, ems, firemen, CSI, admin etc

Regardless of whether you know the officers personally or just professionally it is such a devastation
They put themselves in line of danger every day for little thanks and little appreciation
We are a family here
This has been a loss of a family member and injury to 5 others
As a dispatcher its our job to make sure officers are safe
We know where they are
We are there if they need us
We provide resources in an instant whether we have them or not
Its a dispatchers worst nightmare to have an officer down call
and then to find out its not just one officer
But 6
I am so very proud to be included into the Law Enforcement community where when a brother is in need all officers proved selfless and rushed to help the downed brethren
Where all agencies worked so well together and were wanting to do more
To sacrifice for their brothers in blue
To help out in the mourning process and do whatever they can to assist
To witness the sorrow and pain is such a hard thing
To know it was so senseless in the battle of good vs evil
These officers were doing their job
They were protecting citizens and the community
However out of all this incredible sorrow and hurt there is a miracle
Such a humbling experience to witness
Everyone coming together to support
as a community
as an agency
as a symbol of what they protect
Citizens, Officers, Dispatchers, Law Enforcement, EMS, Fire,
People who have never met the ones involved leaving random thank you notes on officers cars
Giving an officer a hug in the 711 and just telling them thank you
The countless flowers that have been received in dispatch and the police department
Its nice to know that in such a horrific tragedy caused by one person that it can bring groups of people together in support
I am proud of my dispatch family
They are amazing and are taking on this horrible incident with their shoulders squared and hearts heavy
But supporting each other, supporting the officers, and coming into work ready for another day
To take on another task
and to serve the public just like its any other day
Because that's what we do
If we don't do it no one else will
I am proud to work for such an amazing agency
To work with such incredible people
And to have the opportunity to serve a great public

Crafty

Kennedy's b day is coming up and I have been struggling with what to get her
She got way too much on Christmas as it was
I decided to make her a Tangled wig she can wear with her princess dress
Hailey helped me make it
Shes the best ever!
We just crocheted a headband and then cut up a whole skein of yarn and threaded the yarn through the headband
Pulled it back into a pony tail, tied it off, and braided it
Sarita, Hailey and I crocheted some flowers and tied them in
and there we have a Tangled wig!
It only took us MAYBE 2 hours tops and that was with lots of interruptions
Haileys been great at helping me crochet too
I made this beanie and scarf for Kennedys b day also!

End of 2011

The end of 2011 went out in style!
My friend Zack bought a house and got keys to it on Friday.
Late Friday night we joked that we needed to have a party in his new house since it was empty
No furniture to ruin
If anything got spilled it was easier to clean
Before we knew it Saturday afternoon we were shopping and getting it all ready!!
This was about half way through our shopping trip
I helped him get the living room all set up
Disco ball, pole, speaker system
We had the water pong table set up
The cups were filled with water so they didnt tip over
I'd never played before and actually it was really hard!!!
Me and my bro in law Nic
Nic bought 2 bottles of champagne for the midnight toast
It was so horribly disgusting!!!!
We just shook them and sprayed them outside!
We all counted down on the little tv that was in the living room and shouted happy new year!!
Then went outside to watch the fireworks show Willard put on and to open the nasty champagne
Sha'La (Zacks sister)  her fiance Dylan and Nic
Me and Jenna
She was a DD for the night
I was so proud of her!!!
Way to go Jenna!!!
Say cheese!
We were a both caught off guard
We had so much good food to eat!!
The kitchen was the place to be
Bacon wrapped cream cheese stuffed jalapenos, cheesy chili dip, chips and dip, cookies, homemade candies, little smokies mmmm!
Zack, Nic and Mark
Nics in the Army and Marks in the Coast Guard
