Feeding Schools

Twice a month our work sends volunteers to go assist Catholic Community Services to help hand out food at underprivileged schools.
The trucks pull in and we help unload them, take all the food inside and set up everything.
Once we had it all set up a bunch more volunteers showed up.
We talked to some of the organizers and they said they feed aprox 2800 kids a month.
They said in a school of 600 kids all but about 20 will be on food assistance. The majority of those kids have no food to eat during the weekend. So they put together bags for the kids to take home to sustain them for the weekend.
Each side was lined with tables with the same foods on them.
I handed out Mac N Cheese and Strawberry milk.

It was crazy the amount of donated food they hand out. I mean a WHOLE ENTIRE SCHOOL of 600 kids!
