East Canyon Ice Fishing

Monday Dad, Phil and I went fishing at East Canyon.
There was a lot of snow on the ice! It was a good thing dad had the plow on his wheeler to scrape some of it off.

We set up the tent and fished for a while. It was really slow! We finally caught one fish, well dad did.
After a little bit of no bites and it being so slow we moved outside and drilled some holes. It was still pretty slow.

We had a group of people close to us that were bringing in fish left and right. They were getting ready to leave when one guy snowmobiled over to us and said their holes were really hot and they were leaving if we wanted to move over there. They were like 60 yards from us so we thought sure why not. Phil stayed in the tent and Dad and I headed over. Phil caught one fish while we were gone. About 5 minutes we had caught a few fish and our poles were getting hit left and right. We yelled at Phil to pack up his stuff and Dad went and got him on the wheeler.
Dad had the lucky hole. His pole kept getting hit before he could even get it fully dropped back down.

Finally I started getting a few hits an so did Phil. It was hot from then on out!

You can see Phil has one fish on his pole he just dropped and is bringing in another fish.

We quickly caught close to our limit. We left two spots open just in case we caught any fish we HAD to keep. From then on out we were catching and releasing. I threw back over 10 fish and still kept my limit of 4!
Dad and Phil both bringing in fish.
We spent hours bringing in fish. It was awesome! I havent had that good day of fishing in a long time!
