Super Sunday Ice Fishing

Super Bowl Sunday we went ice fishing again.
Chris hates ice fishing and stayed home and Kennedy wanted to stay too. I told them they were crazy it was going to be a hot!
Within 5 min of setting up we were catching fish. We were lucky enough to even get the exact same ice holes as the last time.
Phil was the winner with the first fish on the ice
I mean this was a REALLY rough way to have to spend the day...
We were catching some pretty good size fish!

We had a herd of aprox 20 deer grazing on the hillside next to us. We just sat and watched them all day.

These are the size of fish we were throwing back!
We had two away from our limit in just over an hour.. and we threw back any semi small ones. Our limit was 16 fish.

 They were hitting like mad
Mom would bring a fish out of the hole and drag it over to Dad so he could take it off her hook and re bait her.
 The keepers

Had to throw these two back!

We had a great day fishing. The weather was in the high 40s. The sun was shinning. The fish were biting! We didnt even set up the tent!
One the way home just between 24th and 21st st I looked out the window and saw chunks of tire flying.
We were able to pull over on the 21st st exit and change it. I sat on the truck as look out because cars were NOT slowing down when they passed us.
We took all the fish home, filleted them out and are going to brine and smoke them!
