Papparazzi Jewelry Party

This weekend I hosted a jewelry party..
or I should say my dad hosted one

My friend MarDee sells the stuff and the parties are great because everything is right there
You can see it, try it on, nothing to sign up for, nothing to listen to
You just come in to the open house, eat and buy!

My dad was all excited for this and made us 3 salsas!
One black bean, one fresh pico and the other his bottled salsa, sweet pulled pork and cookies!

Oh and he decided plain tortillas just weren't good enough he had to cook some up too
The party was a great success!
Here are some picts of a few of the people who came
MarDee, Me, Elysha, Liz, Kerista and Hailey
Me, Michelle and Merissa
Thanks to all those who came!
Thanks to Dad for being such a great host!
He was sending people home with to go plates full of food!
He said I bet this is the first jewelry party ever where the food was as big of a hit as the jewelry!

Weekend Catch Up

This weekend a band that I know a few of the individuals in was playing a show on Friday night
I didnt have any plans
It was Liz and ours weekends for our kids to be with their dads
So I told her lets go!
Oh yeah Liz is now a redhead
She dyed her hair that morning
We can just sit at home alone on a Friday night!
A bunch of my friends from work were going to be down there too
The band was pretty good
They're called Crossfire
They play a lot of Kansas, CCR, Eagles etc

Chad and Kandace
Me and sweet Kandace
She is a freakin riot!
There is a special spot in my fridge that freezes
I had a diet coke freeze and deform the can so I walked over to the garbage can which was full and dropped the can down into it.
It fell maybe a whole 3 inches
Next thing I know the can SHOOTS across the room
hits the ceiling
and slams into the wall about 8 feet away!
My wall and ceiling and whole dining area are covered in frozen mushy diet coke

The whole top of the can just popped open when I dropped it into the garbage and propelled it that far!!!!
Spent the day snuggling and hanging out with my peanut
She crashed out on the couch on my lap
..
That is after today she told me
"Mom, you're not very smart anymore. You are being mean to your daugther and thats not nice!"
Im so mean because I made her pick up her toys!

Weather

The weather lately has been nuts lately
Kennedy and I ran to Winco and it was a little stormy on the way there
When we hit the parking lot I swear a hurricane hit
NO LIE
The parking lot instantly filled with water
The rain was pouring down HARD
It lasted for about 10 min and was gone

Its been making me cook a lot more too!
I made chili and corn bread cake
Today we had the first snow on the mountain tops!
So I made broccoli cheese soup!

The skies turned black on the way into work tonight.
Its like half the town was still day light and the other half was night

I love fall so much!
Its my favorite holiday.
I love the food, the smells, the cooler weather, sweatshirts, hunting season!
I just hate we get so much rain!

Shitsters

The 3 of us shitsters
(thats what Liz calls us.. especially since one of us is always getting into well....)
Went over to see Liz's new condo!
The 3 hooligans ran around and played
They had a blast!
Liz cooked us some healthy food
Corn dogs and sweet potato fries
We joked this was kind of like Sister Wives.. minus the men
We just put out a big plate of food and a 2 big bowls of sauces and let the kids have at it!

The deer

This hunt on the first day I saw a 3 point. I chased him through the trees for a min but wasn't able to get a shot at him.
The second day I was stopping to glass a hill and heard a bunch of hunters behind me yelling for their dog. They were right in the trees behind me so I put my pack on and turned to keep going. A 4 point snuck right around about 15 feet from me and ran behind a wood pile. I pulled up to shoot him but he was right where the hunters were at. I could hear them yelling for their dog again so I let him go and didn't shoot because I didn't feel comfortable with the shot.
The third day I let a 2 point go. I could have shot him but I let him leave. Now I'm not one of those that just hunts for the rack. I hunt for the meat. I hunt to help control the population. But all Ive ever shot was 2 points. I told myself this year I was going to go with a size bigger than I have gotten before.
The fourth day I played cat and mouse with a 3 point buck and doe. I took a shot and missed him.
I saw a deer each day of the hunt.
I hiked hard.
I worked hard for the deer.
I got up at 6 am and hiked and hunted until about 10 at least each morning. Came back had some breakfast and went back out for a little bit. I'd come back and take a nap. Wake up and go hunt til it was dark.
Kennedy came out a few times with me but mostly she stayed with dad at camp.

Sundays are always a successful huntin day for me.
I got my elk and my last deer on a Sunday.
They just seem to be good luck.
I always had a teacher who referred to it as 'Church in the Mountains'
Being out enjoying Gods country and the beauty around

I started out Sunday morning at sunlight and started hiking up to a pile of trees and cut trees.
I sat down for a min but felt like I needed to hike around instead of keep an eye on a clearing.
So I start through the heavy timbers and brush and came into a little opening.
This may sound funny to some...
but Ive spent a LOT of time in the wilderness. Hunting. Fishing. Camping.
I have a good eye for wildlife.
I'm very aware of my surroundings around me.
I listen and pay attention.
I can feel them looking at me and it helps me pick them out.
I saw this buck starring at me.
He was maybe at the most 20 yards from me.
I took two steps to the left so I had a clear shot with out any brush or trees in the way.
Pulled up and aimed for the center.
Normally I go right behind the shoulder but I had been shooting a little to the right and high when I was practicing so I went for dead center where if I wavered some I would still be in the clear.
I exhaled and pulled the trigger while I was.
He dropped!
Dropped right there!
I hurried and reloaded just in case and went over to see my deer.
I wasn't able to tell how big his rack was when I shot him. I knew he was a buck and a decent size.
I was surprised to see he was a 4 point
I tried to call my dad over the radio so him and Kennedy could come up with the deer cart and start getting this guy outta there.
Where I was I'd hiked up an old logging road and was about 100 yards or so through the heavy trees.
I stalked, shot and gutted the deer all by myself.
This was the first one Ive ever had to gut on my own.
Usually my dad is with me and he just cant help himself.
I had no phone service.
He wasn't answering on the radio.
So I had him all cleaned out and waiting when I finally got ahold of him about 45 min after I shot it.
I was hiking out to a clearing where I knew I had reception at when he answered. It was about 7:45 am

My dads friend Alan made this deer cart.
Its awesome!
Kennedy rode on it while her and dad came up to where I was at.
She had a blast and was yelling Yee Haww!!
We took a few pictures
Dad helped me clean up one little part I missed on the deer.
Kennedy doesnt look happy in these pictures but she really was.
She was mad I didnt shoot her a "bambi" because she wanted one too

Kennedy took this one of dad and I
We weren't quite ready for it!

We loaded up the deer onto the cart
I put on my backpack and rifle into it and Dad and I carted it out
It still was a workout getting it over the down trees and dead fall but we did it
Much easier than dragging it!
Kennedy helped.
She held onto the antlers while we walked
We got the deer back to camp
Quartered it out and put it in the cooler and packed up camp!
I got a bunch of good steaks out of it and am going to make a bunch of jerky and summer sausage!
I really do hunt for the meat.
I like the adventure of hunting.
I like the accomplishment of getting something.
But it was nice this year to get a bigger deer than normal!

Muzz Hunt 2011

This year for the muzzleloader hunt my dad took me up to the same area as they archery hunt
We had a different campsite this year but it was in the same campground
This one was a great spot! Away from all the dust and other people and right past dads truck we had a huge campfire area
This is just a collection of the whole weeks worth of pictures
We left on Tuesday and came home on Sunday
Thats 6 days of no makeup
No shower
No hair products (besides shampoo)
and 6 days of hiking hiking hiking!!

The sunrises and sunsets were gorgeous!!!
Dad got in a little bit of reading..
haha several books worth of readin!
We didnt eat very well either
Ribeye steaks
This was my plate of breakfast after hunting all morning..
OJ
2 pancakes
2 eggs over easy
a bunch of sausage links
see why I hiked so much haha
Kennedy had a blast too
Weekend full of hiking, four wheeling, food and grandpa!
Campfire every night
We were in bed by 9 every night
I was up by 6 am every morning
We may have had a few naps too

Kennedy and I went on a hike
about a mile round trip
she hiked about a mile every day and did so good!!
Of course she had to take some pictures too
Of course her barbie had to come with us on the hike

We were on top of a ridge and she climbed up onto this little stump
Shes scared of heights but as she was climbing up said
"Its ok mom I wont die or scream!"

We also spent a little time on the wheeler going to different places to hunt and look for deer
Dad took off his back bags and Kennedy rode on one side of the rack and I rode on the other side
Kennedy and I ready to go out for the night while dad was going to push through some trees and brush for us
He may also have done some grouse hunting while he was pushing through the trees.
Its multi tasking
My little camo princess!!
Waiting in the trees
We were so well hidden when my dad came out of the trees about 15 feet from us I told Kennedy to be still and be quiet.
He couldn't see us!
If my dad cant see us hiding I know we were hidden well!

Dad roasted us up some marshmallows

Someone had a full week and crashed in the truck on the way home!
It was a great weekend!
Thank you so much dad for taking us up there and cooking!!!
