Elk Hunt opener

Friday afternoon we were getting ready to head to the cabin as soon as Miss K got out of school. Chris got called into work just an hour before that. He was home by 4 though so we didnt have to leave too much later. Taylor followed us in his truck with his wheeler. We got up there in time to go for a drive around the block. We saw a ton of doe.

Chris had been craving pumpkin roll all week long. He didnt want me to bake a cake or cupcakes for his birthday so instead we bought him a pumpkin roll and used that.

Taylor tells him that his mom also made Chris a birthday treat and he pulls out pumpkin bars and better than sex pumpkin bars.. Chris's two favorite desserts!

Taylor giving Chris some birthday love!!
Kennedy has had a loose front tooth for weeks. It has been hanging by a thread but a very tough thread. Ive tried to pull it several times and it just wont come out. She took a bite of Grandma Tammys pumpkin bars (which were super moist and soft) and her tooth popped out! She thought it was so funny to tell Tammy that her pumpkin bar made her tooth come out. This is the first top tooth! Kennedy was asking what holds her teeth it. I was trying to explain it was skin called tissue and she interrupts and says "is it the root that feeds my tooth blood and has vessels in it" um yep kid it is!
I just love this toothless look!
Saturday morning Kennedy and I slept in and let the boys go hunt. It was so nice. Todd and Jana came up early that morning and were out with the boys. When they finally came back they found packrats had gotten into the roof so it was time to take care of them.
Todd and Jana left after a while and we went hunting on wheelers. Every single place we went was completely packed with people! More than we had ever seen. No one was seeing elk either.
The weather was great for a good ride though

That night the boys went out hunting and K and I stayed at camp. We wanted a nap and our faces were so sun and windburned. We crashed. All of a sudden the boys come back and all I can hear is them talking about duck hunting. They had decided they were done with all the people, with no elk, with all the drama that had happened that morning and they just wanted to go home and duck hunt. So we loaded up everything late Saturday night and headed home until next weekend.
