Week 41- Northview Open house, craft party,Todds birthday, trailer lights

Monday night North View Fire Dept had their open house. I love going to theirs because they always have such fun things plus I know a lot of the people who work there so it makes it even better. Our dispatch center had a booth set up there and 4 of us volunteered to run it and educate people about the 911 system and what to do when you call. We had all kinds of prizes and grilled each child on what their address was, phone number and city they lived in. We also have a mock answering system set up where they can dial 911 and then we go through the questions with them like they are really calling. It was a big hit!
Kevin, Lori, Me and Erin as the Elephant
I also found this online which is perfect! The open house started at 5 and went to 7:30. We had a straight stream of children and parents the ENTIRE time. We had a huge line at our booth and hopefully educated them all!
They had 2 helicopters. For a donation to the Food Bank they were giving away fire engine rides. There was a station set up for them to spray fire hoses, a kitchen fire demonstration, a fire extinguisher demo, pizza pop and all kinds of stuff!

Tuesday night we rolled some more hose!
 Kennedys school assignment
I love to shoot archery because I get to shoot at a target.
She had a big 'About Me' poster she needed to fill out. She wrote it all on her own and decided everything she wanted to put in. Under I show others I care by... she wrote helping and loving and said " because loving people is helping show them how much you care about them" She is such a big hearted little girl!
I made my very first spaghetti sauce this week.. Cant wait to try it and see if its any good
Thursday night Chris left to go to elk camp. Kennedy and I planned on riding up with Taylor on Friday since she had school and I had to work. That night Taylors mom had a craft party at her house and Jana, Kennedy and I went. Kennedy has pretty much the entire Brimberry family wrapped around her little finger. Tammy bought her a bead set so she could have something fun to do and to make sure she would come to the party too instead of leaving her home with Grandpa Todd. Tyson (Taylors older brother) got conned into helping her make bracelets. Tammy fed her chips and salsa while she painted.. Taylor got her whatever she needed and after she got done painting she went downstairs with Grandpa Steve and fell asleep on the couch with the dog cuddled around her watching cartoons.
She is so spoiled. She painted a skeleton to hang in her room

Tyon helped his mom paint blocks and hung out with Jana and I
Our crafts turned out stinking adorable! These blocks are reversible. One side says Give Thanks and the other side is Merry Christmas. Kennedy painted my pumpkin :)
 Our finished projects!
Somehow during craft night Tammy and Kennedy convinced me to let her have a sleepover for the weekend with Tammy instead of going elk hunting. They both pretty much railroaded me. Im not sure who had more fun Tammy or Kennedy. They went to breakfast at Cracker Barrel, she got a painting craft set, another bead making craft set, a whole craft bag full of fun things, they colored, she had Nutella sandwhiches... I was surprised we got her to come home after that!
Todds birthday was this week and we had been planning and working on his present forever. The anticipation was killing me. Chris and I decided to have Tammy make a fire quilt for him. She makes them all the time and does really well. It turned out so good! The back of the blanket is this
and the front is patchwork with pictures printed on fabric from his years as a fire fighter. We have ones with him and Chris, him and Ash, him and his brother and nephew, his brothers funeral.. all kinds!
We couldnt wait to give it to him so we made him open it before dinner on Sunday.

He loved it so much he cried. Perfect!
Sunday night was his birthday dinner too with all the family. Roy and Kathy came into town just for it. Elysha and Macee came down. Tammy, Taylor and Steve came over also. Dad smoked a pork tenderloin that was amazing!! He also made mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. Tammy cooked pies. Roy and Kathy brought a cake also. We ate so stinking much that night!!

This sassy peanut has been on one lately. The other morning she was giving Daddy a run for his money! All I could do was sit back and laugh. She is NOT a morning person. At all. She was pissed because we didnt have Captain Crunch or yogurt. Those are her two favorites and all we had was fruit loops. I told her tough shit. If she wanted breakfast she could eat fruit loops or go to the store and buy her own Captain Crunch. I got the full eye roll and DUH voice when she said "Im not 16! I cant just get in the car and drive to the store and buy some!!!" I told her too bad guess you have to eat fruit loops or starve. I went and got in the shower and Chris walks into the kitchen as she is putting the fruit loops back into the container. (We were supposed to be going duck hunting that morning and she was going to go to Grandma Chris's before school but his tail lights on the trailer wouldn't work when we hooked it up the night before so we had to stay home. She hadn't realized we weren't going ) He asks her what she is doing and she says "I am putting all the cereal back. I dont want fruit loops. I am going to Grandma Chris's and I'll eat breakfast there. She will have what I want!." She was pretty disappointed to learn she had to stay home with us and eat fruit loops. How do 6 year olds get this much attitude!?

Chris and I both had work off Monday so we fully planned on spending the day duck hunting. My dad was going to go with us. Mom volunteered to take Kennedy to school. We were all set and hooked onto the boat Sunday night to get it ready to go. No trailer lights. We took it home and worked on it for two and a half hours in the freezing cold. They worked last week.. so we tested everything. Still couldn't get the lights to work so we decided to just stay home and fix them because we still werent sure if it was Chris's truck or the trailer.  We ended up rewiring the whole trailer Monday.
It was soo cold. I couldnt get warm. Chris is one of those people that when he works he likes company but doenst like help.. unless its handing him a tool or something. So I grabbed a lawn chair and some hot cocoa and chatted with him while he worked.
Finally after several hours the lights worked!! woo woo!!
We also pulled our garden. I had so many green tomatoes that just wouldtn turn. We pulled all the plants and threw a bunch to the chickens. They loved it.
Justin, one of Chris's friends called him Monday night and needed his help. He only needed his help because hes skinny.
He had to climb in this little hole and on top of the generator to change the bar that moves the jackstands. Chris could barely fit in there. You can see his boot hanging out
