Week 40- Birthdays and rollovers

My child who once again doesn't believe in assigned homework sat down at the table the other night to work on math problems...FOR FUN... ON HER OWN!? She was doing really really well!!! I was super impressed. We also went to parent teacher conference that week.. she is reading 3 levels above what she should be and on her testing scores her class average was 113 and she was rocking a 178!!!! Dang kid!
Kennedy has really been wanting girly dance clothes. Most the girls in her class wear shorts and tank tops but a few wear the girly little dance clothes. I splurged the other day and bought her a few pairs. She was ecstatic!
She had to show me her wall handstand they have been practicing
Tuesday was Moms birthday so we had birthday dinner at her house. All the grandkids minus Klint who wasnt there.

Dad told mom he didnt have a burn permit for her cake.. and this is the face he got.
We got her a new Montana Silversmith earring and necklace set. Liz and Kyle got her pink camo bino straps. Dad surprised her with a new bow string and brand new Vortex binos. She was so excited to have nice new binoculars. I caught her face right as she opened them. Happy birthday Mom!
Wednesday night Kennedy wanted to make early birthday cards for Chris. His birthday was on Friday. She made him two cards and hid them in the mailbox. He almost always checks the mail when he gets home from work. She couldn't wait for him to get home and sat by the window and watched. Of course this one time he doesnt stop to check the mail so we had to talk him into going back out to check.
 Letter #1
 Letter #2
Its her Chris and I hunting and hiking mountains. Chris is the one holding a flower and Kennedy is in the middle holding our hands.
Thursday night we went out to dinner with JaNeale and Jimmy at Wingnutz for Chris's birthday and we didnt take any pictures?!!? The service sucked but the food was good and we still had a fun night.

Its finally been cool enough we had our very first fire of the year in the fire place!
Kennedy had been begging for Halloween decorations so Friday while she was in school I decorated. She was so happy when we walked home and she saw the house.

Friday was also Chris's birthday. We were leaving town once Kennedy got home from school for the elk hunt. He didnt want a cake or party that week and just wanted to do Sunday dinner as his birthday. We did let him open his presents though.
We registered his boat, got him a new shock collar, some treats and a new orange jacket and beanie for the hunt

Sunday itself was crazy! We went hunting that morning. Ran errands. Then all Kennedy wanted to do was help Grandpa Todd put up Halloween decorations. We put out what they had and ended up running to the store. Jana was crazy enough to turn Todd, Kennedy and I loose to pick out what we wanted. I have never had so much fun deciding on decorations! We brought everything back and Jana just started laughing at us when she saw how crazy we went. We started putting up all the decorations and my mom showed up. She had yelled at Todd earlier that morning because he didnt have his Halloween decorations out and she had been waiting for them. She helped us put stuff out and then Elysha and Parker showed up and wanted to help.. then Taylor too. It was a big family event!
We put out everything we had and decided it wasnt enough... so we came up with a few things we need to do this week to finish it off. It looks so much better at night!
We went inside and had birthday dinner.  Taylors mom Tammy came over also. We had just finished eating when the pagers went off for a rollover on the freeway northbound. Todd, Taylor, Chris and I all jumped up and piled into the car. We took care of that call and headed back home to eat dessert.
We had just put the last bite of cake into our mouths when the pagers went off.. not even 10 minutes since we got back from the last call.. Traffic accident on the freeway northbound... before they could even finish paging that one they advised they also had a report of a rollover at Herold Crane.. so once again we all ran out of the kitchen and into the car. We were all in the engine and told to go to the accident at Herold Crane with the Squad. So we headed down that way and just about the time we got to South Willard by the overpass they paged us for a rollover on I15 at MM 351.. Northbound. We were about one minute away and were diverted to that call. We got on scene and all we saw were damaged cars and over turned trailers. There were 5 of us on the engine.. which means one person is IC and they run the scene so they dont 'help'  We had four cars and one truck that was pulling two trailers. In total we had ELEVEN patients. We got everyone taken care of and had to wait for the tow trucks since we had fuel spills and hazmat stuff to clean up.

The truck pulling a camper trailer and enclosed trailer.
Todd running command with the almost full moon behind him.. I blame the moon and conference. Someone from each accident was coming home from conference...
The back of the pickup and the front of the trailer

It took forever to flip the trailers and trucks back over and get them cleared out and all the fuel cleaned up. We had the freeway shut down for at least two hours. We finally made it home and in bed around 1130 that night.
