Elko Archery Shoot 2014

Friday morning we convoyed down to Elko. Me, Chris, Taylor rode in Todd and Janas truck. Mom and Dad followed in their car. We stopped in Snowville for breakfast and went out through Park Valley. We did some shopping, checked into our rooms and went out to play for the night. We started out at Gold Dust Casino. I love that one and always do well. We ended the night at Stockmans. I hate that place and always lose! We had to take Taylors picture in front of the casino for him

That next morning bright and early we went up the canyon to the shoot. This was the course this year.
Registration was cold! We were just waiting for the sun to come out

There were a lot of people this year! They had over 300 shooters.
Youre only allowed to shoot in groups of 6 that way you dont slow everything down. We had such a big group with us there we had to split into 3 teams. Thats why a lot of the pictures you will see is just of our group shooting and not everyone else also. The first day as tradition we wore our pink shirts
Group #1
Colter Davis, Brad Gale, Lindy Gale, Dad and Mom
 Group #2
Brad Wilson, Ashley Wilson, Jake Toone, Madisyn Price and Travis Toone
 #3
Chris, Me, Taylor, Todd and Jana

I forget how pretty the scenery is there for the shoot

Taylor and I's first 12's of the day. The scoring goes 12 (for the tiny ring in the center) 10 (for the smaller outter ring) 8 (any part of the insert) and 5 (any part of the body excluding horns and hoofs)

 Todd
 Jana

Group #1

Jana over shot one of the targets and her arrow ended up in the river. The current was super strong and it as very deep. It ended up getting snagged on some branches
Chris and Todd were able to fish it out with a big stick!

One station you had a blind to shoot out of

This was Jana and mines first time ever shooting out of one

Jana got a 12 on the flying mosquitos

It was a long day of shooting. We didnt end til almost 3. Afterwards this was my lunch! It was amazing. We were going to BBQ but we finished late enough and figured we'd just snack and then go to dinner.

We cleaned up and headed out to Chinese food. Last time we ate there it was not that great...but this time it was AMAZING. The food was so good! We cleaned house there
The next morning we had to be at the shoot earlier to see the scores posted and attend the shooters meeting. They take all the people who shoot in each class and then flight it.. basically take the top amount of people and they do a shoot off. The amount of people in a shoot off depends on how many are in the class. I ended up placing 3rd. There were 7 of us who got to go to the shoot off
I shot a 367. I look at my last years scores and I shot a 327. Thats a pretty big improvement! I was way happy about that.
 Todd also flighted
Lindy also flighted in my group. Her and I went to the shoot off. I shot horrible! It was shitty. I just couldn't get my head into it. I ended up placing 6th out of over 30 girls. Lindy placed 7th. Thats still pretty awesome!!
After our shooting we got the grill out. Todd grilled us up some great burgers and dogs.

 Todd placed 3rd
 Mom took 1st
Jana placed 1st
Mom also placed Gold in her Senior Olympics
Dad placed Gold also in Senior Olympics
We had such a fun shoot! Brigham Bowmen cleaned house!
