Tell me this isnt the cutest thing ever!
Chris and his niece taking a nap together
Saturday after work I hurried and threw some chili in the crock pot for dinner and we went to shoot
Chris and Hunter needed to sight in their guns for the upcoming elk hunt
We went to his uncles property up Sardine Canyon
The hills were ALIVE in orange and yellows
It was so pretty!!!
I just kept taking pictures of everything
I was kind of in a picture taking mood
Oh yeah and there was some shooting going on
Theres a little inside shed with a table and chairs set up to shoot from and targets at different yardages right in front of it
I was outside and so was Chris
I had earplugs in and was in my own little world
Todd and Hunter were inside and he was shooting his 7mm
All of a sudden Todd comes out wiping stuff out of his eyes and cleaning off his glasses
We cant see inside of the place they are shooting out of since we are right on the side of it
I thought maybe Todd got something in his eye.. like some grains or something from when Hunter shot
Todd goes back in the shed
I still have my ear plugs in waiting for the next shot
Next thing I know Hunter comes out and his hands are covered in blood and him and Todd head to the truck
I dont know which one of them is bleeding or what happened
Turns out Hunter got scope eye.. or in his case scope forehead!
He didnt hold his gun tight enough on his 3rd shot and the scope hit him in the head..
In the SAME EXACT spot he has a scar from doing the SAME EXACT thing last year
He was just fine
I cleaned all the blood off of him and cleaned up his forehead
and maybe gave him a little bit of a hard time
Then went back to taking pictures
So we went home..
Todd fixed up Hunter good
Had chili and cornbread for dinner at our house
Then got things ready for everyone to take the trailer of 4 wheelers up to the cabin for the deer hunt
Part of that was Chris and I needed to fill up gas cans so we headed to Smiths
This is where it gets complicated
Chris had a $20 gift card, a $10 fuel check from Smiths they send out, and then his debit card for the rest
Before he even started pumping he went up to the little enclosed box they keep the cashier in and asked him how he wanted him to do it
He told him just enter your rewards card, fuel up and then come back over and I'll ring them up
So we filled up the 4 5 gallon cans
Total is $74.02
He goes over to pay and the cashier swipes the $20 card
Then hits check for full amount.. $54.02
The fuel center was packed
4 people were in line behind Chris
The cashier tries and tries to void it
Tries to start it over
Cant fix the transaction
So Chris asks him to just ring up all the people behind him while he figures it out
Well he cant do that because he just froze the machine trying to fix it
He calls for a manager to come out to help and asks Chris to move his truck away from the pump because they are down one
A manager finally comes out and they go through the rounds again..
He cant find the receipt the cashier threw in the garbage for the fuel..
Cant get the machine to fix it
Cant void it
Cant verify the amount of fuel because 6 other people have used the pump now
Chris is keeping totally calm
Explains what happens again.. which cards are needed.. how much the fuel was
I am done by this point. I was waiting in the truck and reclined the seat back and went to sleep
We are 45 minutes into this adventure of JUST TRYING TO PAY FOR FUEL
The guy cashier is crying
The manager cant fix it
Chris is standing outside the cashiers box
Another manager that we know from the archery club who wasn't working but was passing by with her family stopped
Walked in and with in 5 minutes had it all fixed and good to go
WE WAITED AN HOUR to just be able to PAY!!!!
AN HOUR
This is where Chris amazed me
He didnt get pissed
Didnt scream and yell
Was polite
Didnt lose his temper or storm off out of there
He felt bad for the cashier who was totally flustered
Was laughing when he came back to the truck
I cant say I would have been the same way
Thats why I waited in the truck :)
