Week 21- Primary childrens shoot, turkey hunting and bowfishing

Sunday I took some vacation time from work so that I could shoot at our Primary Children's shoot. I worked half the day and then we headed up. Todd came and shot with us. This years course was set up differently and had more targets to shoot at. They made the shots super tough this year! We had a great turn out! Over 195 shooters! That is awesome! All the money goes to Primary Childrens. We even had a bunch of shooters that won money donate their winnings back to the cause.

See like this one you have a caribou up close.. and a jackalope underneath it further back so you have to shoot under the belly of the caribou

Chris was a little tired from partying at Zacks house all night. He got home at 3am when I was just getting ready to leave for work. There was a little bit of a wait at one of the targets so he took a nap in the sagebrush.

Kennedy has been off school all week for year end testing. How stupid is it. She has a whole entire week off of school, has Monday off for the holiday and goes back Tues Wed Thur and Fri is it. We had to schedule a day during school hours to go in and do her testing individually for 30 min. She rocked it! She did so good we are proud! She got a coupon to Perry Ice and Arbys. We went and had our first Perry Ice (after hunting that day)
After her testing we headed out turkey hunting.

She was exhausted and slept a good three hours like this in the sun laying in a ditch. She kept snoring. I was cracking up
The place normally had been full of turkeys the last few times Id been out, just couldnt get them in close enough for a bow, well this time no go. Just ONE hen. She was a long ways out.

Taylor and Chris decided they needed to tune up Kennedys dirtbike. It had needed it. So they tore apart the carb and cleaned the jets out.

After our Memorial Weekend trip to East Canyon we were home maybe 30 minutes when a grass fire came in and he needed to go be a second and help Fire Marshall One (aka dad).  He hurried and threw on his clothes and was out the door in a blur
Well we (me Chris Kennedy) were supposed to go out bowfishing with Taylor in his new boat. Chris was still out on the fire so he told us to go ahead and he would meet us at the ramp, we just needed to take all his stuff with us.
We headed out to the spur on the side of Willard Bay

Taylor said the water was down about 2 feet from the last time he was out there last week. There were SO MANY gnats! We were covered in them
Sassy McGee was wearing her jacket in 80 degree weather to keep the bugs off her arms
There were no fish.. and no daddy either...he was still out on the fire
We drove around. Taylor let Kennedy drive the boat.
It was hot. There were no fish. Chris was still on the fire. We stopped and walked up over the dike to the bay to cool off and was the bugs off!

Kennedy turned into a mermaid again. She was calling me Mer-Momma and Taylor Uncle Merman
We walked back over to the boat and headed in for shore
We got home just about as Chris was getting home. We hurried and showered off all the bugs and went over to Taylors for a BBQ. His mom invited us over. We just sat down to eat and Chris had to go back out on another fire. So he grabbed his plate, hopped in the truck, hurried home and changed and was gone.
 Dinner was delicious!
Chris text and said he was on his way back home so we waited for him. Taylors mom got out some toys for Kennedy to play with. We taught her how to bat. She actually did really well.
This was her batting face she would put on right as you were about to pitch. Cracked me up!
