Cutting up my deer

and as if we didnt have enough going Wednesday night after work and after parent teacher conference and after archery class Todd and I cut up my deer.
Kennedy was adamant she needed to help. The only thing is a lot of the beginning work is knife work and I wouldnt give her a knife. So instead she put on some gloves, grab some meat out of the throw away scrap pile, a piece of wood to lay it on and a piece of wood to cut it with and started playing 'surgeon'
She was cutting the pieces of meat with wood and learning thats what your muscles look like and about sinew and tendons etc.
Todd was taking the meat off the bone and I was cutting up steaks or burger chunks.

We finally got to a part that Kennedy could help.. her favorite thing..grinding the meat! She was ecstatic. As we were just finishing up Chris came home from school. She made him cut the antlers off for her so she could have them and carried them around for the rest of the night.
