Checking Traps

We took Kennedy down to check traps. The water came up a massive amount in just over a day. She was up to her knees in some places! When Chris checked the day before he wasnt much above his ankles.

This is the road! One of his traps that was on dry ground was full of water.
We let him walk faster than us as Kennedy tried to make it through the water. Once he yelled there was nothing in the last trap we started wading back to the truck.

She was soaked above her knees. Her boots were full of water. I pulled them off and dumped them out. All that water on the ground was IN her boots.
We stopped at a popular boat launch on the way back. The garbage can was full. Chris had been down around there picking up garbage a few times. This time he brought garbage bags.
We filled two large orange bags with this one can. It was packed in there.
Then he picked up a bunch of shotgun hulls that were left in a pile. If people dont keep it clean it will be closed down. Take out your garbage when youre done. Clean up after yourself. It keeps all our places open!
