Color Country Girls Trip

Friday after I got off work at 6pm Mom, Jana, Kennedy and I loaded up the car and headed straight for Cedar City. We were headed to the Color Country Shoot. Jana and I had never shot it before but Mom had and said it was fun. My dads sister Kim lives in Cedar and was super sweet and let us stay with her! We showed up at her house about 11 that night. Tried to get a little sleep and then was at the shoot by 8am the next morning. Kennedy ended up staying with Kim and Ty. Ty is Kims daughter who is 8 ( and Kennedys cousin) They hit it off immediately and were inseparable all weekend.

The first day of the shoot is indoor 3d. It was pretty cold in the arena.

I have to say I was in my groove and shooting pretty decent. So was Jana.

That took about 4 hours to complete. Afterwards we went to lunch. Kennedy went with Kim and Ty to get a baby goat. I mean go with your mom and Grandmas or go get a baby goat. It was a tough choice haha
We all took a nap. It was rainy and gloomy outside. That didnt stop these kids! They were in the goat pen playing non stop.

 These picts crack me up

I had been dying to go on an adventure there. She lives on 10 acres! 10 whole acres! So I went for a walk in the drizzling rain.

There is a big ravine that is from a flood. Old school flood control was to dump older vehicles in there to slow down the water. You can tell from here but there are actually 3 trucks!

I wanted to unbury this Jeep so bad. The whole vehicle was there but only the top stuck out.

 These two...
Saturday night they cooked us dinner! Not only did they let the 4 of us crash their house for the weekend but they cooked too! We had ribs, baked potatoes and corn on the cob.
Dave, Kim, Jana and Mom
Kennedy and Ty
The girls decided to sleep on the love sacs in the living room that night.
Duke kept a good eye on the girls

That next morning we had to be to the arena by 8am. It was FREEZING COLD. Ridiculously cold. I had on 2 shirts and a hoodie and was still freezing. You could see your breath and your nose was running! Mom shot in the 5th group (they were assigned by your class and who you were shooting with) Jana and I were placed 1st and 2nd in our class.

The second day is indoor V formation. so each target is set at 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 65, 55, 45, 35 and 25 yards. You shot 4 arrows at each target.

Mom and Joe. He had on so many layers and was still freezing.

We finished our shooting and had a few hours to kill before the awards ceremony. We got lunch, went to a few stores and back to get Kennedy and say good bye. She came with us to the archery range that morning but when Ty and Kim showed up she bailed on us. She went back to the house to play with Ty and the goat Zoey. This was another play area they had st up on the property. The girls loved it.

We said our goodbyes and headed back to the shoot for the awards ceremony. We knew where we placed before hand because of the score cards.
Mom took 1st in Senior Bow Hunter Freestyle Class
Jana took 2nd in Adult Female Bow Hunter Freestyle!!! She did so awesome! Changing bows this year has made a completely different shooter!
And I took 1st in Adult Female Bow Hunter Freestyle
The top 3 in our class
