Last day of the deer/elk hunt

The general season archery deer/elk hunt ended on Friday night. We decided to go up to our spot once I got off work Friday afternoon and hike in to pull trail cameras and see if we could go for one last hoorah. Mom still hadn't filled her tag so she came along with us. We hiked in to our sitting spot and didnt see or hear anything. We hung out there for a little bit then pulled our trail cameras and headed back to the truck.

Because archery hunting is so difficult they have an extended season too. When you hunt your tag is for a specific area. Once that time has expired you go into the 'extended season' which is in only 2 units in the state. In that extended season with a bow you can shoot either sex.. so doe or buck.. or cow or bull. Even though the general season is over on Friday the extended opened on Saturday and goes til the end of November. We still have a lot of time to find something!
