Funeral

The day of the viewing this was out front of OPD
I didnt take any pictures at the funeral
All these are ones Ive gotten from friends or off news sites

I wasnt able to attend the viewing and was only able to attend the funeral
It was such an emotional drive there
The streets were lined with American Flags
There was a STEADY stream of police cars headed to the event
Cars from all over the state and surrounding states
They made sure that we as dispatchers were included in 'law enforcement'
They had us sit down on the floor with OPD and their families
All of the other agencies filled the stands
Usually dispatch is kind of left out of the loop
Just how it goes
But they went out of their way to include us and show appreciation for our role
The parking lot was OVERFLOWING with law enforcement vehicles
When you went to walk inside there was nothing but officers in uniform everywhere
OFD made sure that one of the injured officers was able to attend
They went and picked him up
Took care of him

Family, Officers and injured officer Hutchinson walking out to be seated
Grogan was able to walk with help and be in the group
Talk about an emotional reality chek
Watching the grieving family and officers walk out
To see the injured officers coming to the funeral of a fallen officer they were there with when he fell
It brought chills

The ceremony was very nice
Full of great stories and heart breaking moments
The speakers did a very good job
The amount of respect shown was imense
Its not something I can even begin to put into justice in words so I wont even try

After the services they had all of us on the floor go stand to line the hallway as they wheeled the body out
WoW
We were able to see Rounkles on an Ipad
They were live streaming the funeral to him and passed him by as everyone lined the hallways
I dont believe there was a single dry eye and officers stood at attention and we had our hands over our hearts while the casket covered in the American Flag passed by

There were over 5000 people in attendance and I would dare bet that a good 95 percent of them were law enforcement
They loaded the casket on top of the fire engine and headed to the gravesite
