304- A day full of HALLOWEEN!!!

Miss Merida from the movie Brave.. aka Kennedy all ready for school. Dont you just love her crazy wig! A big thanks to JaNeale for spoiling Kennedy and getting her costume from the Disney Store.. you wouldn't believe how hard they were to find!
of course we have to pose and have action shots! She was bummed she couldnt take her bow to school.. but she understood and told me several times how weapons are NOT allowed at school
I dropped her off at school at 830 and then went up to my moms a little later. Kennedy had a Halloween Parade at school and I went to pick her up. My mom had Chico dressed up for the holiday too! He loved it cant you tell..
Mom and I went down to the gym for our first ever Halloween Parade. Only Kindergarten and First grade go to her Elementary school since there are so many kids (everyone from Willard/South Willard and Perry go to her school)
All the kids walk into the gym with their class and make a loop around in their costumes. Then they walk through the halls and into the other classes and back through the gym for a final loop. They have all the Kindergartners walk first, then they go back to class and they let the First graders walk. Can you see my little red head?

making the first loop through the gym

and on the second loop back through she was blowing kisses to everyone.. She had no idea we were going to be there so as she first came through she was surprised but on her second loop she was prepared ha!

Once all the kids got out of school we went to see Liz at work at the Ogden Courts, then we went to my work and stopped in to see Dad at the fire station.

 Dad with all his grandkids
From there Elysha, Mom, Parker, Macee, Kennedy and I went to see Todd at his work. He works like 2 minutes from me and their work hadn't had hardly any trick or treaters so the kids made out good there! Kennedy was so funny she was sure NO ONE would recognize her in her wig. So each grandpa she saw they'd say wow look at that hair or some comment and she'd rip off her wig and say "Grandpa! Its me your granddaughter Kennedy!!!"

From there Kennedy, Mom and I went to Willard Trunk or Treat. Its always so fun and each year you can either donate candy or money. The CERT volunteers put it on and the fire dept helps out. They serve free chili, hot dogs and cocoa. You can volunteer to make a trunk and either supply your own candy or they divide the donations between the trunks. It started at 6 and we were there by 5:40.. we were already a ways back in line!

The cars line make a loop through part of the church parking lot and then another loop up the street in front of the fire station. The roads are blocked off so no cars can drive through. It makes a big M pretty much

They had some cute trunks this year

Kennedy and Grandma getting treats

Doug (one of the guys from willard and the fire dept) and his wife always get so into Halloween. This year he was a pregnant zombie cheerleader. It was hilarious, especially if you know him!
After all that fun and excitement we headed to Brigham to see Chris. He is grounded (aka on call) ALL this week/weekend so he had to be in Brigham by 6pm Halloween night. He was out shutting off sprinklers when we got there. So we hung out for a minute and then he showed up, along with Ry, Derek, Ash, her friend Carrie and her son Tyler. Kennedy was coloring in the living room and they all started coloring. Forget trick or treating!
We all decided to go walk around a couple of blocks in the neighborhood to trick or treat.. and by all.. I mean ALL of us. Jana, Todd, Ash, Derek, Ry, Me, Chris, Kennedy, Carrie and Tyler.
After a few blocks the kids were done. It was cold. They were tired. The candy buckets were heavy. So we went back to Todd and Janas to color of course and watch The Adams Family.
Happy Halloween!!!
Kennedy was so cute when we were done trick or treating and headed home she said to me "Mom thanks for taking me trick or treating.. I really had a fun time" it totally took me aback her saying thank you for taking her. Sometimes we get so caught up in the routine of thats just what you do for holidays I didnt even think twice about taking her trick or treating. Thats what parents do. I thought it was so sweet she said that
