Primary Childrens Benefit Shoot Weekend

Thursday night we all took our campers up to the outdoor range to camp for the weekend.
We sat outside for a little bit and Kennedy ran around with her light saber Grandma Tammy brought her back from Vegas as a flashlight

We came back down early Friday morning to take Kennedy to school. She had her one and only 1st grade field trip to Willow Park Zoo and the American West Heritage Center. It rained all day long.. just like on her Kindergarten field trip. She still had fun. While she was gone we ran a few errands and Chris took me out to lunch at the Philadelphia in Clearfield. Its a sandwich place he is always talking about. I told him order for me since hes the pro. I ordered a small pepper steak. Small is 8 inches
It comes with steak, cheese, onions, green peppers, mayo and ketchup. I really wasnt sure about mayo and ketchup on a philly.. I take those words back right now! It was perfect! The meat is spicy and it creates a nice sweet sauce. I wouldnt order it with out it ever.
He had to weld a part on his lawn mower and got to use his new welder finally.
After a little nap it was time to pick up Kennedy from school and head back up to camp. Her and Ry ha some yogurt and granola for an after school snack..one of Miss K's favorites and watched Brave.
Us bigger kids went and set up the range. Phil Chris and I took the lower half

We had some rain on and off but mostly clear skies. This was our trailer hood for the weekend minus one trailer you cant see. We have the baby camper out of the group and Im so ok with that!
After set up it was time for burgers and hotdogs. Phil was the grill master.
We started a bonfire and Zack came up for us to celebrate his birthday on Sunday. Hes leaving town in a week to go to Houston Texas for 3 months for work. We had to get him ready to go.
Everyone sang him happy birthday and we made him open his presents in front of everyone.
We had a guy who came up from Nevada for our shoot. He was going to camp down the road but we told him to put his tent up by our campers and join the party.
The kids and Ashley W played slap jack (thats just fire ashes in her hair)
We had our muck boots on since the grass was so wet
Kennedy was so excited to get to sleep in the camper for her first camp out of the year.
The next morning as soon as Chris got out of bed she was cuddled in next to me just wanting to snuggle.
The shoot opened Saturday morning at 9am. It started raining about 2 am and never stopped. Not once. It rained ALL DAY LONG. We all were in our muck boots and rain gear.
and it wasnt just slightly raining. It was pouring
We put the registration booth inside Todd and Janas toy hauler. It worked out perfect. They hooked up a little electric space heater to stay warm and dry.
Chris and I set up the blue canopys for a breakfast nook. One tent to cook under one tent to get your food under.
Wayne and Todd cooked pancakes, sausage, ham and bacon
Dad showed up after he got off work Saturday morning and first thing he had to do was go buy a new part for his heater in the camper.
We only had 21 shooters show up Saturday. Last year in total we had almost 200. I was shocked we had people willing to shoot in the pouring rain. This girl had a broken foot and was wearing a walking cast! She had it wrapped up in clear plastic and shot the whole course.
The girls took over Todd and Janas camper. They had playdough, cards, toys, watched movies, Chris and I went and bought them coloring books and crayons just to help keep them busy. They were loving it.
Briggs has really started to love Uncle Chris lately. They cuddled and took a nap.
The rain didnt let up the entire day. I bought Kennedy a few cheap disposable ponchos and a new pair of rain boots since I knew the weekend was going to suck. Id rather have her soak a $12 pair of rain boots and have dry feet than ruin her shoes and have wet feet all weekend. The poncho was her nemesis. She couldnt figure out how to put it on. Half the time she wore it as a cape. She didnt get what a poncho was at first and said oh so like a rain dress? I said yes. Exactly. She said "Is it clear?"  I said yes. She said "Great what color is it... " hahaha
The rain didnt slow the kids down one bit. Even though it was pouring they set up a crossbow shooting range under Derek and Ash's camper. They took turns shooting at the water jug then racing out to pick up the rubber darts.

We fired up the camp chef and grilled steaks for dinner Saturday night. Everyone brought a side dish.
We had a nice romantic steak dinner together in our camper while the rain poured outside
