362- Snowmobiling at Hardware

Saturday morning we packed up early and headed out of town. We headed to Hardware to go snowmobiling. Someones wife had been bugging him non stop to take her...
We made a few stops, got some breakfast and were almost to Left Hand... and then I realized I forgot my snow bibs...SHIT! We turned around and headed back down the canyon. We called Todd as soon as we had service and he met us at Sherwood Hills with my pants. Kennedy was exhausted again. I think shes fighting off the start of a cold. She has been kind of congested. She slept almost the whole way up there and the way back down.. and the way back up. You know shes out cold when her mouth hangs open. One day these will be my blackmail photos.
We ended up getting ready to go ride about 10:30. Not too bad considering. Plus it gave it a little time to warm up. We were higher than most the inversion so I could actually breathe too. It was nice! Kennedy was insistent on riding with Daddy to start with. She told me we would switch every 8 hours.
We rode up to the cabin to check on it. My sled seemed to be driving funny and pulling to the left. The left ski wouldnt straighten completely out and to go straight you had to keep the bars turned. I thought maybe it was just me.. I was struggling. We cut through the powder at the cabin and I tipped it over. Chris had to come back and help me flip it back up. My muscles just werent big enough. Miss Peanut supervised.
Chris played around some around the cabin.

Chris rode my snowmobile around for a minute and decided that part of the steering was bent. It was still drive able but it made it harder. You couldnt really pull out of the snow like you should be able to.
We got ready to leave the cabin and I tipped it over again. Chris and I couldnt stop laughing. We made it out to the flat with out incident. He told me here, you go play on my sled and Kennedy and I will play on yours. Im not going to argue with that.

Well riding his sled made all the difference in the world. I was cutting trails through powder, hitting some jumps, playing around and riding like I should be. Not once did I tip over or have issues.
We stopped for a minute and Kennedy told him he needs to stay on that sled and her and mom were going to ride his. What can I say not only is my husband cute, hes smart enough to not argue with us both.
We took off on his sled and he rode mine.
The ride was amazing. The skies were so beautiful. It was sunny and clear. The temps really were pretty warm. We left the trail head at like 20 degrees. We all 3 stayed really warm riding.

The trails looked like this. Perfect. Not too many people had ridden on them so they weren't too hard packed or rutted.

I love them and this picture!
Chris hates trail riding. But he sacrificed for us today lol! He loves to be out cutting his own trails in the powder and climbing any hill he can find.

He did find a little hill to climb to make him happy

We took the loop out around Hardware, up past Bug Lake, down into Rock Creek and back to the trailehad at Hardware. It was about a 70 mile trip. Good enough for a tank of fuel on each sled. We made it back to the trail head and I told Chris he needs to go buy a brand new snowmobile and I will inherit his old one :) That or we need to find another one like his if he doesnt want a brand new one. Hes a lucky man. I beg him to take me snowmobiling and I tell him to go buy a brand new sled hahaha
When we got back to the truck we had talked about going out to see the elk on the sleigh ride. That place was freaking packed!!! And not just packed yuppie packed. The wait was over an hour. We were exhausted and were good with just heading home. Miss K helped me pack up all the gear while Chris loaded the sleds. Shes too cute for her own good.
We had a great lunch on the way home with apples (they were amazing) smoked cheddar, summer sausage, donuts and chips lol!
She stayed awake the entire time on the sled but couldn't resist the truck. When we got home she went and slept for another 2 hours.
We cheated and ordered Chinese food for dinner. We all cuddled on the couch and watched Despicable Me 2. It was a perfect day. The kind where it makes you really sad to have to go back to work the next day.. but you know if you dont work you cant have play days like this one!
