Day 2- Alpine Lodge and Gardiner MT

Let me just tell you a little bit about the Alpine Lodge where we stayed at in Red Lodge Montana.
The place is WONDERFUL!
My parents met the owners Trish and Larry a few years ago at a Kawasaki Rally
They REALLY take care of you here!
The customer service was something that you rarely see anymore.
The rooms were VERY clean
They are super nice people
Larry cooks breakfast every morning that's included in your stay.
On site they have the rooms, cabins, camping, laundry room, bike washing, horse shoes, fire pit and on and on
I will highly recommend this place to anyone whose going through the area.
You wont be sorry!
We started out the morning washing up our bikes.
They have soapy buckets full of water, rags and clean towels set out.

That's the main office and then the cabins to the side.
The canopies are the gathering and breakfast area
Larry cooking up breakfast for everyone.
He sets out a white board with 5 choices for you.
Coffee starts at 6.
Breakfast from 6:30-9
and if you don't want something cooked they have cereal too

From there we headed out to see if my parents friends  Jim and Laurie were home
They weren't so we set out for Gardiner MT.
Its about a 2 1/2 to 3 hour ride.
My dad wanted to go to Gander Mountain store there.

The area just on the outskirts of Red Lodge was so pretty.
Gorgeous rolling hills.
It reminded me of the old western movies of Montana.

Mom
 Mom and I
We rode into Columbus Mt

Mom Dad and I
Headed out to the freeway for about an hour or so of freeway riding.
Then you take a 2 lane road into Gardiner which is 53 miles from the exit and 1 mile from the entrance of Yellowstone.

Well we arrived in Gardiner.
That's Yellowstone Park behind us

But guess what.
Gander Mountain is NOT in Gardiner Montana.. or in any part of Montana.
The closest store is in Colorado.
So we ate lunch at a cute little sandwich shop, bought some presents and headed back to Red Lodge

But hey we had a good ride and got to see some pretty country!

Hi!!
That night after we got back we went down to the canopy area and had drinks and snacks with Trish and Larry
Told stories and lies Im sure
Im not mad I promise but I kinda look like it!
He did what!??
Larry used to run on a volunteer fire/ems crew in the area so him and dad started in on war stories
They were pretty dang funny!

It was a great night just relaxing
They have a nature center across the street so the coyotes were howling and yelping
Mom and Dad got a little out of control..
All I wanted to do was try and get a good picture of them together.

Geez I cant take these two anywhere!!
