4th of July race and candy drop

After the parade we walked up to the playground where all the fun was
Parker and Kennedy sure love uncle Kyle!

We waited for the candy drop so the races could start and we could leave
Mom and Dad wore the same color of shirts
and all 3 of us girls happened to wear pink
Every one gathered and waited while the plane made a few flyovers
There was this cute veteran who was all dressed up proudly in his HOT WOOL suit in 100 degree weather
Then candy rained down from heaven..or from a plane.

The masses scrambled into the middle for candy and they did a few fly overs
Then it was time for the races
I was so ready to go!
It was SO HOT but Kennedy had her heart set on it
They start at 18 months old.. then seperate each year into boys and girls.. so it takes a minute to get to 5 year old girls and 5 year old boys

Its so tradition though
They've done foot races for as long as I can remember and its a badge of honor to win
The kids all lined up
Kennedy ran to Uncle Kyle since Chris wasnt there
He was off working on a sprinkler job. I swear that boy thinks he cant take a day off :)
And they're off!
Kennedy slightly jumped the gun lol!
She was so excited to run
She ended up taking 2nd.. she was so close to 1st place
Then it was Parkers turn
He looked forward to this all year
As you can tell he took it very seriously

Parker ran his little heart out!
After all this fun it was already past 1130 and HOT!
Kennedy had been such a little stinker lately I didnt let her stay to play games or anything else
We headed for home before Chris had to run off and do firework prep
